Abstract
397,522. Weighing-apparatus. COPE & COPE, Ltd., 100, King's Road, Reading, and HEMMING, G. H., Little Melton Vicarage, Norwich. Feb. 25, 1932, No. 5658. [Class 143.] A balance particularly adapted for the weighing of numerous small articles such as eggs, comprises a scale-beam b of light construction having a weigh-pan or the equivalent h at one end and an adjustable counterbalance weight d at the other end, and having connected with it a pointer l movable over a chart m, and a damping arm n carrying a paddle o movable in a bath p containing oil or other liquid. The liquid bath is adjustable vertically by the arrangement of its supporting bolts q within slots in the frame a<1>. Adjustment of the bath to definite damping positions is facilitated by providing the vane with a series of constrictions to indicate the extent of its submersion in the liquid.
