Abstract
523,061. Lenses. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and WARMISHAM, A. Dec. 23, 1938, No. 37409. [Class 97 (i)] In a photographic objective comprising two compound meniscus components which have facing concave surfaces and are placed between two simple collective components, one or each of the collective components has a refractive index greater than 1.75 and preferably greater than 1.8, and the sum of the numerical values of the curvatures of the front surface of the front dispersive component and of the rear surface of the rear dispersive component lies between 4.25 and 4.85 times the reciprocal of the equivalent focal length of the objective. The objective may have a relative aperture of not less than F/1.5, and the curvatures of the surfaces of the rear collective component may be such that their sum is less than 1.6 times the reciprocal of the equivalent focal length.
