Abstract

470,522. Lenses. WARMISHAM, A., and KAPELLA, Ltd. May 5, 1936, No. 12646. [Class 97 (i)] In an objective of the kind comprising two collective components enclosing two compound dispersive meniscus components with their concave surfaces facing each other and having a diaphragm between them, each dispersive component consists of three elements cemented together, the outer elements adjacent the diaphragm being collective menisci, each of which has a higher refractive index than the inner element adjacent to it. Each of these meniscus elements may also have a lower Abbe number than that of the adjacent inner element. Data are given for two examples, each having an aperture F /2.
