Abstract

507,184. Lenses. WARMISHAM, A., WYNNE, C. G., and TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd. Dec. 11. 1937, No. 34362. [Class 97 (i)] In a wide aperture objective comprising two compound dispersive meniscus components having their concave surfaces facing each other and disposed between outer collective components each of which is a simple lens, the radius of the rear surface R2 of the front collective component exceeds 6f, and the radii of the concave and convex outer surfaces R6, R8 of the rear dispersive component are numerically less than 31f and 42f respectively, all the surfaces of the objective being spherical and f being the focal length. the rear collective component may be made of glass the refractive index of which exceeds 1À63.
