Abstract
451,439. Sanitary traps. McALPINE, J. B., and McALPINE & CO., Ltd., Dunsmuir Street, Govan, Glasgow. March 2, 1935, No. 6642. [Class 33] In a trap having a cylindrical drum B, Fig. 1, an inlet pipe C, having a vertical or slightly inclined portion in close proximity to the drum and terminating close to the extremity of the drum, and an outpet pipe D situated at the top of the drum, the arrangement being such that sealing takes place solely on the inlet side and the diameter and height of the drum are greater than twice the diameter of the inlet or outlet pipe, the bottom of the trap is made without any emptying plug and the top is provided with an airtight inspection cap G, which is approximately equal in diameter to that of the body or drum. The cap is screwed into a ring E having a flange F for securing to a floor. In another form, Fig. 2, an inlet pipe C, is carried into the upper part of the drum to join a passage H which may be formed by an unaltered prolongation of the pipe, or by a portion of the. pipe split and welded to the drum or by a piece welded to the drum and the pipe. The inlet pipe may also be provided with an inspection cover. Specification 4190 /98, [Class 33], is referred to.
