Abstract
232,404. Hopkinson, R. A., and Hopkinson & Co., Ltd., J. April 8, 1924. Safety valves.-The inner part of the casing of a safety valve loaded by dead weights is formed from a solid drawn or wrought steel tube a which has secured thereon by screwing shrinking welding or otherwise a collar at the upper end to receive the valve seat and a corresponding member at the lower end for securing the valve casing in position and supporting the drip tray. In the form shown in the Figure, the valve seat c is secured by a ring d in a collar b screwed to the end of the tube. The lower flange is also screwed to the tube. The ring d may be dispensed with. Modifications are described in which the seat is held in a recess in the tube by means of a screwed ring or by a holding-down ring engaging a collar screwed to the tube.
