Abstract
419,488. Electric cables. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Dec. 12, 1933, No. 34950. Convention date, July 11. [Class 36.] The rubber, guttapercha, or other insulation of a cable or conductor is protected from the effects of light or heat rays by means of an external polished light or white layer, preferably by means of a layer of varnish which contains aluminium powder as the pigment. An aerial lead comprises a conductor 1, a rubber sheath 2 constricted at intervals to position the conductor centrally thereof, a metallic screen 4 of strip tinfoil windings, high conductivity wires 5, a fibrous braiding 6 and an outer coating 7 of aluminium varnish. The outer coating is applied by drawing the conductor through the liquid varnish. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification, 339,375, [Class 36].
