Abstract

347,410. Cables; junction boxes. SIEMENS -SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. March 15, 1930, No. 8415. Convention date, March 20, 1929. [Classes 36 and 38 (i).] The end of a cable 2 is sealed oiltight by a cap 6 that is attached to the cable sheathing and has tubular extensions 7, 8, 9 through which the cores 3, 4, 5 pass out. If the cap 6 is of lead, it is soldered to the sheath and corded and bonded to the metallized cores, but if of insulating material it is corded also to the sheath and may be used with bare cores. A protecting sheath may be provided to prevent access of dust and moisture to the cores to prevent glow discharge.
