Abstract
468,917. Junction boxes; plug couplings. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. Nov. 12, 1936, No. 30920. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1935. [Class 38 (i)] In a terminal box for coaxial cables 2, 3 as used for television, with surrounding telephone and broadcasting wires 1, the broadcasting wires are led to laterallyarranged terminal plates 4 provided with screens 10, 11, the telephone wires are led to a further terminal plate 12, Fig. 2, whilst the core 2 of the coaxial line is connected by a sleeve 14 to a wire 15 formed at its other end with a socket 17 engaged by a plug 18 connected to a flexible cable 19. The cable 19 passes through a socket 20 coaxial with the incoming cable and secured to the box by a bayonet-fastening 21, 22, the socket pressing a sleeve 29 against a body member 23 through insulation 30 to provide a watertight joint. The lead jacket 21 of the cable 2, 3 is connected through a support 22 to the body member 23 which is screwed to the wall of the box. The outer conductor 3 is connected through a tubular part 34 and a bronze spring 25 to a, screen 26 and flexible metal tube 28. A curved neck 32 fitted to the sleeve 29 protects the cable 19 from damage.
