[Class 36.] In an air-insulated cable of the type. in which the air space is provided by a cord of insulating material laid helically round the conductor and serving to space an outer insulating cover from it the cord or cover or both are made of comparatively non-hygroscopic materials having low dielectric losses at high frequencies, such as cellulose esters, cellulose ethers, Tjipetir rubber, or rubber specially treated at the source. The materials may be strengthened by embedding threads of artificial silk &c. in it.
