Abstract

669,404. Cables. TELEGRAPH CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE CO., Ltd. March 16, 1950 [Feb. 15, 1949], No. 4154/49. Class 36. [Also in Group XL (c). An electric communication cable comprises a plurality of conductors separated from one another by a strip of non-hygroscopic insulating material applied longitudinally between the conductors and having oppositely directed folds, providing a surface covering extending over at least one quarter of the perimeter of each conductor, but not completely to cover it. Two conductors A may be separated by a strip B, the whole being twisted and enclosed in an insulating cover. By this arrangement the spacing between the conductors in a high capacity cable is kept constant. The strip B may be of polytetrafluoroethylene and the outer insulating covering may be of polythene.
