Abstract
984,579. Electric cables. ANACONDA WIRE & CABLE CO. May 14, 1962 [Sept. 15, 1961], No. 18450/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading H1A. An electrical conductor for a flameproof cable consists of a molybdenum wire surrounded by a plurality of helically wound copper wires. The cable is insulated with silicone rubber held in place by glass braiding and the whole is surrounded by a metallic sheath for example of copper braid. Two or more conductors together with their insulation and glass braiding may be twisted together, the gaps filled with non-combustible strands and the whole covered by the metallic sheath.
