Abstract
380,344. Rotary pumps. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES L'ASTER, 66, Rue de la ChaussÚe d'Antin, Paris. Jan. 29, 1932, No. 2746. Convention date, Jan. 30, 1931. [Class 110 (ii).] A rotary pump of the kind having a gyratory eccentric piston comprises a shaft 10 having stuffing boxes 12 and supported by ball bearings 11 in two circular cheeks 13 which enclose a cylindrical ring 14 forming the body of the pump. The cheeks 13 are clamped against the cylindrical ring 14 without the interposition of plastic material, but the cylindrical ring 14 comprises on each side a flange 25 which contacts with the flange 26 of the corresponding cheek 13. A packing washer 27 is applied against the contacting flanges by a ring 28 and screws 29 which pass through the cheeks 13 and screw into the ring 14. Packings washers 30 are placed under the heads of the screws. The gyrating piston 16 comprises a diaphragm 17 carrying at its centre an outer race 18 of a ball bearing 19, the inner race 20 of which is carried round an eccentric 21. The eccentric 21 is driven by the shaft 10 and integral finger 22. A spring 23 is interposed between the finger 22 and eccentric 21. The piston is balanced by eccentric weights 33 which are adjustably secured to external plates 31 carried by the shaft 10.
