Abstract
751,266. Sifting apparatus. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT.-GES. April 9, 1954 [April 16, 1953], No. 10510/54. Class 117. The invention relates to a vibrating screen provided with an eccentric drive or an unbalanced-throw-type drive, wherein the driving shaft is mounted in the walls of the screen casing. According to the invention, in order to allow easy dismantling of the driving shaft 4, an annular space is provided between the shaftbearing-housing 3 and the reinforcing flanges 2 on the walls of the screen casing 1, and a sleeve 8 is forced into this space by pressure rings 9, 10. As shown, Fig. 1, the bearing housing and the sleeve are tapered and the sleeve may be slotted to make it resilient. Alternatively a pair of tapered sleeves may be forced into the space from opposite sides, Fig. 5 (not shown), or a resilient (e.g. rubber) sleeve may be compressed by the pressure rings, Fig. 6 (not shown).
