580,220. Rotary meters. COMPANIA PARA LA FABRICACION DE CONTADORES Y MATERIAL INDUSTRIAL, and VITEAU, P. June 20, 1944, No. 11709. [Class 110 (ii)] A gyratory piston 9 is supported by a spindle 10 in a crank member 7 provided with a balancing mass 11. The member rotates. around a fixed pin 8 around which the spindle 10 moves in a circle. The parts 8, 10, may have their ends resting on adjustable bearings as in Fig. 6, or may be screwed to the member 7 and extend to bearings in the casing 1 and piston 9. The piston may be of a light material such as ebonite, light metal or plastic material with a mass 11 of lead or other heavy metal. Where spindle bearings are used, they may be of synthetic or natural bard stone or hardened steel with the working surface flat or curved, and a hard, rustless ball may be interposed between each spindle and its bearing. The upper surface of the member 7 may be above the median plane of the piston as shown in Fig. 6. This arrangement is stated to secure dynamic balance.
