Abstract
362,810. Roving guides for drawing- apparatus. PAILLET, J. L. V., 7, Rue Thiers, Wignehies, France. March 30, 1931, No. 9656. Convention date, April 4, 1930. [Classes 120 (i) and 120 (ii).] Roving guides having a crosssectional shape varying progressively from that of a shallow flatbottomed trough, at the feeding-in end, to a section approaching a V-shape at the end where the roving leaves them, are pivoted between successive pairs of rollers in the drawing heads of spinning frames, so as to be capable of swinging in a horizontal and a vertical plane, whereby the guide adjusts its position so that it fits the roving, brushes down stray fibres, and discharges any electric charge present, the guides being made of metal and connected to the frame of the machine for this purpose. The guides 7 are made of sheet metal and are pivoted loosely on the axle 8 by means of the ring 9, so that movement in a horizontal plane is possible. The roving enters the guide at the small end and emerges through the V-shaped opening 11.
