Abstract
432,270. Drawing fibres. SHAW, G., 73, Old Park Road, Roundhay, Leeds. Jan. 22, 1934, No. 2126. [Class 120 (ii)] Short-fibre material is drawn in a single or multiple stage system by a pair of drawing- rollers 1, 2 and positive retaining-means, comprising a positively driven roller 3 and a lever 4 or the like for each sliver or roving yieldingly pressed so as to make line contact therewith at a point on that side of the vertical through the axis of the roller in which the drawing-rollers are arranged. The lever may be arranged, as shown, to support the material between the nip 5 and the drawing-roller nip, and a small roller may be arranged at the front of the lever to form a nip with the roller 3. Suitable settings and weighting are given.
