Abstract
358,280. Rewinders for kinematograph films. HAMPTON, R., The Elms, Tettenhall, near Wolverhampton, and EVANS, W. J., 3, Queens Road, Aberystwyth. Oct. 8, 1930, No. 30080. [Class 97 (i).] In rewinders comprising a spindle carrying a spool and a driving spindle geared to it, the gearing comprises friction wheels one or both of which have a rubber periphery. As shown, a wheel F, secured to the screwed end of a driving spindle A by a screwed handle K and a lock nut M, is formed with a flange G and a loose disc J serving to clamp a rubber ring H between them. The ring H engages and drives a wheel S on a spindle N carrying the spool. The spindle N is mounted in a carriage Q slidable vertically between guides R, adjustable in position by a set pin T, and capable of being clamped by set screws passing through slots c into it. The wheel S may be provided with a rubber ring.
