Abstract

Doffing-arrangements; lifting.rails. - In gill spinning-frames, particularly two row flyer frames with overhead driven flyers, the lifting-bracket a, operated in known manner by a mangle wheel and rack and pinion, is provided with an inclined rail c down which the bobbin rail b is moved by rack and pinion gear into the position shown in Fig. 3, so that the full bobbing may be interchanged with empty bobbins carried on pegs on a bracket. k integral with the bobbin rail,.the yarns after such interchange, extending over a knife bar q whereby they may be severed. The lifting- bracket and bobbin rail are balanced by a weighted lever v carried by an oscillating support w. Levers b<0>, Fig. 5, pressed by springs x<0> are adapted to engage notches a<0> in discs on the flyers so as to align the fiyers for doffing-purposes and are controlled by cams on shafts operated by a handle H, which may be connected to the starting or switch lever of the driving-motor.
