Abstract
373,209. Building-motions for ring spinning-frames. PEARSON, G. W., 223, Central Block, Lowell, Massachusetts, U.S.A. -(Assignee of Cox, W. ; Lowell-Lawrence State Highway, Methuen, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Jan. 20, 1931, No. 1886. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] In a ring spinning or doubling frame the ring rail is traversed and the bobbins or bobbin carriers are also traversed, on non-reciprocating spindles which may be stationary or may rotate, whereby larger yarn packages may be wound. The two reciprocating motions may be obtained from a Scaife builder motion by means of a pivoted lever, one end of which is connected to the usual lifter rod actuating the bobbin rail, and the other end to a rod actuating the ring rail. The fulcrum of the lever may be adjustable so as to obtain different relative movements of the two rails. A fixed spindle rail B, Figs. 7 and 8, carries stationary spindles C. A bobbin rail F having bobbin carriers H driven by bands 51 is raised and lowered by lifter rods 62 operated by a Scaife builder motion. The ring rail lifter rod 72 is actuated from the rod 62 by a lever 8 adjustably pivoted at 7. Each lifter rod carries adjustable buttons 65, 75, Fig. 10, which engage the lever 8, and adjustable buttons 69, 79 which engage the rails and, if desired, adjustable stops 44, 45, whereby any desired relative movements of the bobbin rail F and ring rail 0 may be obtained.
