Abstract
369,068. Building motions for ring spinning and doubling machines. AKT.- GES. J. J. RIETER ET CIE, Winterthur, Switzerland. May 15, 1931, No. 14441. Convention date, May 17, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] In a building motion for ring-spinning, doubling and twisting frames the stroke from the heart-shaped eccentric is modified before transmission to the rocking lever by a controlling element, which is displaced in accordance with a curved guide which moves as the cop increases in size. A heart-shaped eccentric 3 driven by a worm wheel 4 and worm 5 is mounted on a shaft 2 in a frame 1. A control lever 6 is free to swing on the shaft 2 and carries at its end a roller 18 which co-operates with a curved guide 19, 20 carried on a support 21 connected by a lug 22 to the spindle rail 23. A lever 8 mounted on a pin 7 at the middle of the lever 6 carries a roller 9 which co-operates with the eccentric 3. A roller 10 carried by a lever 11 connected by a screw 12 to the rocking lever runs on the back face of the lever 8. Thus as the cop grows the spindle rail and curved guideway fall and the pivot 7 about which the lever 8 turns is moved towards or away from the roller 10 so that the stroke of the heart-shaped eccentric is imparted to the lever 11, and hence the rocking lever 13, tie rod 14, chains 16, and ring rail 17 to a greater or less extent according to the shape of the curved guideway 19, 20. The control lever 6 may be arranged in the top portion of the machine frame and may be replaced by a control member, provided with the transmission lever 8 and pressed against the curved guideway by spring action, or the displaceable control member may simply shift the roller 9 between the eccentric 3 and the lever 11. In a machine where only the ring rail is displaced the guideway 19, 20 is connected to the ring rail.
