Abstract

590,746. Spinning. SOLANAS, R. B. March 29, 1945, No. 8026. Convention date, April 14, 1944. [Classes 120 (i) and 120 (ii)] A drawing mechanism for textile slivers having several pairs of rollers has a sliver conducting roller resting on the lower rollers of two consecutive pairs and carrying a frame made of a single piece of wire having a straight lower portion on which a sliver condenser is linked, and end portions bent to form eyelets fitting into recesses in the ends of the conducting roller, and serving as pivots for the same; positive means are provided to give the condenser a reciprocating motion in accordance with the transverse movement of the sliver. The wire frame has a straight horizontal portion 13 which carries the condenser 11, one end being bent upwards and having an eyelet 14 fitting into a recess 12 in the conducting roller 10; the other end is swept upwards to carry a moulded button 20, and then downwards to form a further eyelet. The condenser 11 is open at its under side to permit easy removal, and is given a positive reciprocating movement derived from the guide bar 8 through angle-pieces 25 which engage projections 27 on a bar 28 extending the whole length of the machine, the sides of recesses in'this bar engaging the condenser 11. The sliver 5 enters the drawing device through a funnel 7 attached to the guide bar 8. Specification 515,910 is referred to.
