Abstract
818,717. Flyer-presser for textile spinning. TAYLOR, G., [trading as TAYLOR & SON, G.]. June 20, 1957 [June 20, 1956], No. 19062/56. Class 120(2) In a flyer, for a textile speed-frame, of the U-shaped type in which the roving is conducted down a hollow leg before being twisted around an arm of a presser, the hole in the latter is of frusto-conical shape and constrictions are provided to guide the roving into the wider end of the hole and from the narrower end of the hole to the package being wound. The constrictions take the form of a tapered or parallel-sided groove 12 on the outer face and a tapered groove on the inside face. A slot 11 is provided between the hole and the upper edge of the paddle. The tube 1 through which the roving enters the flyer has notches 3.
