Abstract
524,400. Preparing fibre for spinning. FEATHER, W. Jan. 30, 1939, No. 3065. [Classes 120 (i) and 120 (ii)] In drawing frames and spinning and like machines in which the roving is traversed at the rear of the line of rollers the roving is guided behind the narrow front drawing rollers by a guide disposed adjacent to the last pair of carrying rollers and having projections the space between which is slightly less than the width of the narrow front leather covered drawing roller; the roving is thus constrained to pass between the front rollers and not pass to the sides thereof. As shown a plate 2 having projections a, b spaced apart a distance slightly less than the width of the front leather covered rollers 4, 5 is mounted behind the carrier rollers 6, 7, on a fixed member 3. A member d extending in front of the roller 7 contacts with the roller and prevents the roving adhering thereto. The projections may,be made of wire mounted upon the bar 3 and the plate 2 and member d may be formed in one piece to clip around the bar 3.
