Abstract

786,528. Sliver guides. T.M.M. (RESEARCH)., Ltd. May 15, 1956 [May 31, 1955], No. 15628/55. Class 120(1) A trumpet shaped . sliver guide has a circular orifice and two opposed flanking portions, one on either side of the orifice, having inwardly facing convex surfaces so as to prevent divergence of the outlying fibres. Flanking portions A4 having convex surfaces A41 and tapered ends A42 are mounted to project slightly across the circular orifice A3 (see Fig. 3). In a second embodiment the flanking portions are made integrally with the body of the guide. The guide may be made by the injection moulding of a thermo-setting synthetic resin, or of glass, porcelain or metal.
