Abstract
374,686. Roving guides for drawing- apparatus. PAILLET, J. L. V., 7, Rue Thiers, Wignehies, France. Aug. 10, 1931, No. 22611. [Class 120 (ii).] Pivoted roving guides arranged forwardly and rearwardly of the second pair of rollers of drawing mechanisms are supported in a common bearing. The guides may be counterweighted and may have wide V-shaped cheeks so that they automatically position themselves correctly in relation to the roving, the guides being pivoted so as to be capable of lateral movement for this purpose. To avoid electrification of the roving, the guides may be made of a conducting material connected to earth, and may be coated with a varnish containing radio-active salts. For an inclined drawing mechanism, the axle support may consist of two arms 10, Fig. 1, and a depending flange 9, all bearing on the plain roller bosses occurring between successive pairs of rollers. For horizontally disposed drawing mechanisms, the common axle support 15, Fig. 3, may be pivoted to a member 16 adapted to clip over the cross-bar 21. The guides 3, 4 are counterweighted and are free to move laterally on their axles 1, 2.
