Abstract
259,345. Ter Weele, F. Aug. 13, 1925. Rollers and roller heads.-The upper rollers of the feed and some or all of the drawing rollers are set back towards the feed end of the apparatus relatively to their co-acting lower rollers, so that the planes through the axes of each pair are inclined to the general direction of feed through the system, and small auxiliary rollers are arranged to coact with the lower rollers and are set forward with regard to the axes of the lower rollers. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 the upper rollers A<1>, B<1> of the feed and drawing roller pairs are set back, the upper delivery roller C' being arranged normally. The auxiliary rollers D are smooth surfaced and may be e.g. of iron ; they serve to guide the sliver or the like from the fluted rollers B to the next nipping point. The rollers of a ring spinning frame may be similarly arranged.
