Abstract
375,803. Arrangement of spinning and like machines, and machines for subsequent treatment of threads. SCHNEIDER, H., 66, Zeltweg, Zurich, Switzerland. March 24, 1931, No. 9046. Convention date, April 17, 1930. [Classes 120 (ii), 120 (iii), and 142 (iv).] In order to obviate the individual removal of bobbins from spinning, twisting, or gill machines with interchangeable lifter plates and doffing- mechanism for subsequent treatment in machines such as twisting, reeling, finishing, or warping machines or quick-traverse winding-frames, the machines are so disposed that the full bobbins on the doffing-mechanism of the spinning or like machines are in the necessary position to serve as the creel bobbins of the treating machine. If it is inconvenient so to arrange the machines, the creel of the subsequent machine is modified to receive the lifter plates of the spinning or like machine. The output of the subsequent machine is such that the bobbins are emptied in the same or a shorter time than that in which they are filled in the spinning or like machine. The treating-machine is preferably mounted so as to be readily removable in order that it may be replaced by a different machine ; for example, in manufacturing twine for agricultural purposes a ball-winding machine and a quick-traverse winding-machine are removably mounted so that either may be used with a gill frame. As shown, a doffing-carriage e, such as described in Specification 228,846, [Class 120 (ii), Spinning, twisting, &c.], is mounted on rails o and the yarn from the doffed bobbins s<2> on the lifter rail g<1> is led over guide rollers z<1>, z<2>, z<3> to a winding- bobbin k. If the rail g is provided with bobbindrag arrangements, yarn-tensioning means may be dispensed with in the winding-machine.
