Abstract

Wrenches with chuck. like grip.-A wrench for inserting and extracting studs comprises an externally-screwed tubular member E provided with slots H<2> to receive loose gripping dogs B which are pressed inwardly to grip the stud A by a sliding sleeve D having a parallel bore and operated by a nut C. The outer edges of the dogs B lie in slots H<1> in the sleeve D and are operatively engaged by the inclined rear walls of the slots engaging cam projections M on the dogs. Squared parts to receive spanners are formed on the member E and sleeve D. The inner ends L of the slots H<2> are curved to allow a, pivotal movement of the dogs.
