Abstract

Chain wrenches.-A chain wrench comprises a lever having a curved serrated head projecting laterally from the end, a chain pivoted to the head and provided with projecting pins, and a pair of lugs on the back of the lever provided with slots to receive a number of the chain pins for securing the free end of the chain. The chain 6 is pivoted by a bolt 4 to the curved serrated head 2, projecting from the end of the lever 1 in a lateral direction substantially at a right-angle and is secured at its free end by engaging two or more, of its link pins 7 in slots 11 in lugs 10 projecting from the back of the handle. These lugs 10 may be formed in one with the handle, or on a separate U-shaped stamping 8 riveted at 9 thereto. In a modification shown in Figs. 4 and 6, the head is formed as a pair of plates or stampings 21 provided with lugs 25 slotted at 26 to receive the chain link pins. The handle 20 is received in channels 23 formed on the inside of the plates 21, and is fixed by rivets 24.
