Abstract

332,193. Arnold, J. E. April 9. 1929. Castrating-appliances. -A castrating tool comprises a pair of arms A, B, carrying jaws E, F and pivoted together at C, the jaws being actuated by a hand lever L having an offset portion K pivoted to a bar G on the arm A. The lever L is connected to the arm B by a pair of links 0 let into recesses R, Q in the members B, L. The jaws E, F are formed with separate faces T, U secured by rivets V which may be removed to change the faces. One face is formed with two fluted portions such as W the other face being of complementary shape. In a modification the.bar G is dispensed with, the lever L being bifurcated at the top to embrace the arm B and being pivoted to a pair of lugs on the arm A. The links Q are replaced by a single link pivoted to the arm B and lying between and being pivoted to dual off-set portions on the bifurcated portion-of the lever L. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 198,556.
