Abstract

1360291 Suspended roofs; single storey buildings TAKENAKA KOMUTEN Co Ltd 8 Sept 1972 [13 Sept 1971] 41941/72 Headings E1A and E1W A roofing member 6 is supported between four posts 3, arranged in a square or rectangle, via four horizontal beams 4 connected between the posts at a level below their tops, to which they are connected by rigid suspension members 5. The connections are all preferably pinjointed, and further horizontal members 20, 21, 26, 27 and diagonal ties 19, 22 may be included. The construction may be extended in a similar fashion. The beam may be of I- section steel. Steel tubes may be used for members 5 and posts 3. A side wall 13 of corrugated steel may be provided, and gutter 15, drain-pipes 16 and windows 11 in the roofing member, which may be a laminated plate of corrugated steel and glass wool.
