Abstract

1,105,295. Metal trusses; building panels. REINFORCED CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION CO. Ltd., R. L. WILLIAMS and R. LAMPARD [trading as WILLIAMS & LAMPARD]. 28, July, 1965 [28, April, 1964], No. 3941/64. Headings E1B and E1K. Metal roof trusses 10 for use in prefabricated buildings, e.g. garages, having flat roofs, each have at least one vertical end support member 17 of angle-section, with a vertical set of holes 20 therein, by which they can be bolted to adjacent prefabricated wall panels at any one of a number of different vertical positions. The angle-section top boom 12 extends over the member 17 and has an anglesection end fixing member 21 secured thereto. The angle-section bottom boom 14 is connected to the top boom 12 either by a single continuous rod 16 welded to the horizontal flanges of the boom, (as shown) or by individual straight lengths of rods, arranged in the same way as shown, or by a perforated metal sheet. Trusses may be connected end-to-end by angle-section connectors 35, (Fig. 8, not shown). The wall panels may be of prefabricated reinforced concrete construction, each with a tapered peripheral flange 26, (Fig. 5, not shown) with holes therein for connecting the panels together and to the roof trusses.
