[Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] A roof construction comprises steel half-trusses c radiating from a central supporting column a and connected to the foundations at their outer ends by means of tension rods d, which are secured by adjustable unions f to base bars e embedded in the concrete. Several such units may adjoin in both directions, ridge ties extending between adjacent columns and tension rods immediately below being dispensed with. The columns have a central space to accommodate house pipes, flues, or wiring services.
