  verfahren zur Darstellung eines aus einem     Honoazofarbstoff    erhaltenen,  färbenden Reaktionsproduktes.    Es wurde gefunden, dass ein wertvoller  brauner Farbstoff von noch unbekannter  Konstitution entsteht, wenn man die     Ver-          bindung;        o-Toluidinsulfosäure        (CHF    :     l,NH.          2,S031:1    :     4)-azo-resorcin    bei Gegenwart von  wässerigem Ammoniak mit Oxydationsmit  teln, vorzugsweise mit Luft behandelt. Der  neue Farbstoff stellt ein dunkles Pulver dar,  das sich in Wasser mit gelbbrauner, in kon  zentrierter Schwefelsäure mit brauner Farbe  löst.

   Im Gegensatz zum Ausgangsfarbstoff  färbt er Wolle und Seide kaum mehr an, da  gegen erzeugt er auf Leder ein schönes, sat  tes Braun, dessen Farbton von dem Grade der  Oxydation abhängig ist. Diese Lederfärbun  gen sind ausgezeichnet durch hervorragende  Echtheit gegen Licht und alkalischen     Fett-          liquor.     



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  Eine Lösung von 24 Teilen des     Monoazo-          farbstoffes    aus     o-Toluidinsulfosäure   <B>(CH,</B>         l,NH2    :     2,S03H    : 4) und     Resorcin    in<B>100</B> bis  150 Teilen Wasser wird mit 30-50 Teilen  Ammoniak von-     20%    versetzt und bei zirka.  80   C unter Rühren Luft durchgeleitet. Die  anfänglich gelbe Lösung wird bald tief  braun. Die Oxydation ist beendet, wenn  Nuance und Stärke der Lösung sich nicht  mehr ändern, was nach einigen Stunden der  Fall ist. Alsdann wird mit Salzsäure ange  säuert, mit Kochsalz gefällt, filtriert und ge  trocknet.

   Der Farbstoff kann auch direkt  durch Eindampfen der     ammoniakalischen     Lösung gewonnen werden.

It has been found that a valuable brown dye of as yet unknown constitution is formed when the compound; o-Toluidinsulfonic acid (CHF: 1, NH. 2, S031: 1: 4) -azo-resorcinol in the presence of aqueous ammonia with oxidizing agents, preferably with air. The new dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a yellow-brown color, and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a brown color.

   In contrast to the original dye, it hardly stains wool and silk, whereas it produces a beautiful, rich brown on leather, the color of which depends on the degree of oxidation. These leather dyes are distinguished by their excellent fastness to light and alkaline fatty liquor.



  <I> Example: </I> A solution of 24 parts of the monoazo dye from o-toluidinesulfonic acid (CH, 1, NH2: 2, SO3H: 4) and resorcinol in <B> 100 < / B> up to 150 parts of water are mixed with 30-50 parts of 20% ammonia and at approx. 80 C air passed through with stirring. The initially yellow solution soon turns deep brown. The oxidation is over when the shade and strength of the solution no longer change, which is the case after a few hours. It is then acidified with hydrochloric acid, precipitated with common salt, filtered and dried.

   The dye can also be obtained directly by evaporating the ammoniacal solution.

Claim: Process for the preparation of a obtained from a monoazo dye, the reaction product, characterized in that the compound o-toluidinsulfonic acid (CH3: 1, NH: 2, SO3H: 4) azo-resorcinol in the presence of aqueous ammonia treated with oxidizing agents, the new dye is a dark powder and dissolves in water with a yellow-brown color, in concentrated sulfuric acid with a brown color.

Depending on the degree of oxidation, it produces rich brown tones of different depths on leather that are extremely fast to light and alkaline fatty liquor. SUBClaims 1.
