  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines aus einem     3ionoa.zofarbstoif    erhaltenen, färbenden  Reaktionsproduktes,    Es wurde gefunden, dass ein wertvoller,  brauner Farbstoff von noch     unbekannter          Konstitution    entsteht, wenn man die Verbin  dung     Naphtylaminsulfosäure-1,4-azo-resorcin     bei Gegenwart von wässerigem     Ammonialz     mit Oxydationsmitteln, vorzugsweise mit  Luft     4handelt.    Der neue Farbstoff stellt  (-in dunkles Pulver dar, das sich in     Wasser     mit brauner, in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure       reit        violettbrauner    Farbe löst.

   Im Gegensatz  zum     Ausgangsfarbstoff    färbt er \olle und  Seide kaum mehr an, dagegen erzeugt er auf  Leder ein schönes, sattes Braun, dessen Farb  ton von dem Grade der Oxydation abhängig  ist. Diese Lederfärbungen sind ausgezeich  net durch hervorragende Echtheit gegen  Licht und alkalischen     Fettliquor.       <I>Beispiel:</I>    Eine Lösung von 24 Teilen des     Monoazo-          farbstoffes    aus     Naphtylaminsulfosäure-1,4     und     Resorcin    in 100-150 Teilen Wasser    wird mit 30-50 Teilen Ammoniak von 20  versetzt und bei zirka. 80   C unter Rühren  Luft durchgeleitet. Die anfänglich braun  orange Lösung wird bald tiefbraun.

   Die  Oxydation ist beendet, wenn Nuance und  Stärke der Lösung sich nicht mehr ändern,  was nach einigen Stunden der Fall ist. Als  dann wird mit Salzsäure angesäuert, mit  Kochsalz gefällt, filtriert und getrocknet.  Der Farbstoff kann auch direkt durch Ein  dampfen der     ammoniakalischen    Lösung ge  wonnen werden.

These leather dyes are distinguished by their excellent fastness to light and alkaline fatty liquor. <I> Example: </I> A solution of 24 parts of the monoazo dye composed of 1,4-naphthylaminesulfonic acid and resorcinol in 100-150 parts of water is mixed with 30-50 parts of ammonia of 20 and at approx. 80 C air passed through with stirring. The initially brown-orange solution soon turns deep brown.

   The oxidation is over when the shade and strength of the solution no longer change, which is the case after a few hours.
