School Counseling Program Mission Statement

The mission of the St. Sabina Academy counseling program is to give the students the
tools to achieve academically, navigate social situations, and cope with strong emotions
in order to be able to effectively negotiate the challenges that life presents in a healthy
manner, and to maintain these skills throughout adulthood.

School Counseling Program Goals


The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance and/or
behavior goals this year. Details of activities promoting these goals are found in the curriculum,
small-group and closing-the-gap action plans.

Program Goal Statements


1 Social/Emotional:
5th through 8th grade students will improve relationships with peers, leading to a
17% decrease in teasing and a 5% decrease in suspensions.

2 Academic:
5th through 8th grade students will improve their academic performance through
study skills education, leading to improved outcomes on grades and standardized test
scores.

3 College/Career:
100% of 8th grade students will complete applications for high school and 75% of
those 8th grade students will enroll in a "best fit" high school for them.

Use of Time
I plan to spend the following percentage of my time delivering the components of the school
counseling program. All components are required for a comprehensive school counseling
program.
