Based on our data from the needs assessment, only 35% of faculty believe there is adequate
school-wide support to address students social/emotional needs. The highest needs for
students were emotional regulation (79%), communicating feelings and bullying/gossip (71%).
Based on this, we hope to increase the support through targeted small groups that focus on
emotional regulation and developing empathy.
3 College/Career: Teachers report that students plan to go to college but not all understand
what it will take to get there. Our goal is to increase the college-going culture at STA as
well as implement classroom lessons that aim to educate students on college/career
readiness and introduce them to options.
