fantastic book! really enjoyed this story and the characters. Only problem was the audio book kept skipping parts of the book between chapters. not sure if that was only due to Scribd not working properly or just this book, but it was really annoying.

Very good listen. Twists and turns with the unexpected at the end. I wasn’t ready for it to end even tho I felt as tired as the main character.

This is very fast, twisting and very satisfying ride!!!

I listened to the entire book in one day! Couldn’t stop listening. It pulled me in and I had to finish before I could go to bed! It’s like Sneaky Pete only a women’s version! Wanted to listen to the first chapter again to really hear what she was feeling from the start!

Wonderful story. Brilliant writing. Fantastic story telling. Never flags and perfect pacing. No wasted words.

THE PASSENGER is a suspenseful tale about a woman (possibly) named Tanya, who's on the run for, well, lots of reasons. She may have killed her husband, though she promises that she didn't. But, there's a something else before that (a mystery), and plenty of somethings after that keep her running.Part mystery and adventure, this book was dark & twisted, but also fun. Tanya's life on the run living off the grid was a wild ride. My only complaint is that I felt like a few loose ends were left open, though I enjoyed the ending. After reading this book, I will definitely keep a closer eye on my purse! Sticky fingers are out there.I listened to the audio of this book, narrated by Madeleine Maby. She did a great job with Tanya's voice and with the secondary characters. This is one that I couldn't wait to get back to listening to.Disclosure: I received a digital copy of this audiobook from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Easy listening, kept my attention. Many twists and turns - not always unpredictable but well thought out. I enjoyed it.

If you're looking for a fast-paced adventure that's not too "heady" but still heavily weighted in mystery and suspense, this may be just the book you want to put on your TBR list. Bits and pieces of the main character's past are slowly revealed as she switches identities to avoid being caught (or killed). Some people will do anything to bury a secret, including committing murder. The question posed to the reader is whether or not the main character is one of those people, one of their victim, or both.Note: I was given a free ARC of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Tanya Dubois finds her husband's dead body at the bottom of the stairs and flees. She cashes in her credit cards, dyes her hair, demands a new name from a shady person over the phone and leaves her life behind.. for the second time. She meets Blue along the way, a bartender she happens to have a thing or two in common with. Blue offers her a place to stay and a new life. Amelia-now-Debra-now-somebody else changes names, appearances and places like crazy, but can she run forever?

Despite some things being far-fetched, it's still five stars. It was a compelling read that made me stay up until early morning because I had to know what was going to happen next.

Having read all the Spellman books I was interested in reading a different genre by Lutz. Quick read, one that you want to finish to see what happens, much like Gone Girl although not quite as well written. Did enjoy the story and the theme of how things can snowball out of control when you make certain decisions. Great if you want a fast paced quick read.

This one took me a good while to get into, especially reading it in audiobook form, but once I did, the story became very compelling. This is definitely an author that I would read again, and a narrative of life on the run that actually proved to be deeply engaging in audio form.

I am a big fan of Lisa Lutz and the Spellman series. However, I couldn?t get through Heads You Lose, her ?joint venture? with David Hayward. Plus, I?m not typically a fan of humorous mysteries, which I thought this was. I had put a reserve on the book and it arrived, I was between books and said ?What the heck.? It was truly a smart move.I?m not going to write any more about the plot. It will speak for itself as you read. You?ll love Tanya as you travel with her, as you read her emails and learn her history. The Passenger is a truly entertaining read.

When Tanya finds her husband dead at the foot of the stairs, she reacts not by calling 911, but by packing a bag and going on the run. This isn't the first time she's run from a dead body and so she has some experience in disappearing. Lisa Lutz's new novel is a lot of fun. The plot is complex, but reasonably believable, the characters are fully rounded and the atmosphere is tense. This is one of the best thrillers I've read in some time.

This book was fantastic! It kept me very engaged and entertained throughout the entire story.

A quick mini review since I'm on vacation. I loved this fast- paced thriller. A page-turner and a quick read kept me glued to the pages. I just thought the wrap-up was less than shocking but I certainly enjoyed the ride!

Gosh I loved this book. I?m so relieved because at least two trusted friends thought it was just okay. I needed a book that was completely engrossing, and I?m very glad I found one.I debated for a while whether to give this book 5 stars or 4 stars. It?s 4 ? stars from me. I decided on 5 because I zoomed through it (and that?s very unusual these days) and because it gripped me and held on. The resolution was also so satisfying. I was afraid it would not be, but it was so much better than what I?d hoped for, and more complex as well. I loved the complexity of the characters, the events and the circumstances. Action packed but character driven story.For me the only reasons for the ? star deduction are the often frenetically series of events (though they were fun) and the fact that sometimes I didn?t think it was realistic the times when she was caught or the times when she got away; there were a few instances of each that just didn?t seem as though that would be a likely outcome. I never stopped enjoying the story though. This was so much fun, a real romp, and my attention was completely riveted. Also, it?s weird to say because of the characters and plot, but somehow I really identified with the main character in some if not in all ways. This is definitely not a cozy and it doesn?t have a lot of humor, but I just loved it, even with all the violence and threatened violence. I loved the well-drawn characters, particularly the main character narrator and (view spoiler)Reading this book reminded me of the readers dilemma quote: ?When a book is so good you?re rushing to finish it, but you don?t want it to end.? In this case I did want it to end because I wanted the mystery solved and wanted to know what would happen, but now that I?ve finished the book, I?m sad, especially since my next main book probably won?t be ready for pick up for at least 2 days. I?m tempted to pick it back up and reread it, already knowing what?s what, but I probably won?t.

The Passenger was a little "out there" from the beginning. Although I could relate to the main character, wanting to just start over anytime she felt like it, changing everything about herself, becoming a new and different person. I feel as though the book missed the mark on the thriller/suspense side of things, and was left somewhat disappointed with the characters and abnormality of human behavior that was present. The end of the book did hold my attention though with a twist that was unexpected.

The main character goes on the run after her husband falls down a flight a stairs and dies. She is afraid the authorities will think she did it and find out who she really is. Seems she ran away from something terrible and took on another's identity. As the story progresses, we learn a little about this woman, and how she changes identities so quickly and why. At first, I thought it ridiculous, but then I was drawn in by her emails to someone named Ryan and her quest to find some peace and some sort of life. I was wanted to know why she couldn't go back home and when she finally does, wow! That's all I can say. I didn't see that coming. The book was fast paced, thrilling, suspenseful and emotional.

Pretty interesting in the beginning, but then it got pretty lame after a while.

This was a very good book, I hope to listen to more from this author.

Really enjoyed this book it had a lot of twists and kept me guessing till the very end.

I honestly don’t know what I thought of this book. At some points I was really impressed and into it, then later I’d feel like we skipped a few steps and glossed over some details. Then the ending just didn’t seem right. After allllllll that we’d gone through together, the ended felt rushed and unrealistic. But I did enjoy it as a whole, I never wanted to stop reading.

I listened to this is one sitting, some scenes are thrilling enough to keep me on my toes, but some scenes dragged on for too long to lose momentum. The way the novel was narrated is wonderful and the idea is brilliant. I must say Nora can be extremely naive and stupid that I face palmed and wondered if I could be a better criminal. Would've like it better if Nora and Blue ended up together, but that's just me.
