U okviru projekta "Kriminal u Srbiji: fenomenologija, rizici i mogućnosti socijalne intervencije" autorka se fokusirala na istraživanje nacionalnog I međunarodnog okvira za pravnu, a posebno kaznenopravnu (krivičnu I prekršajnu) zaštitu jedne specifične komponente životne sredine – životinjskog sveta (faune). Iako je u Srbiji do sada objavljen niz monografija i naučnih članaka posvećenih različitim ekološkopravnim pitanjima, veoma mali broj autora se bavio pravnom zaštitom životinjskog sveta, životinja kao bića per se i državnom reakcijom na nedozvoljena ponašanja ljudi prema životinjama. Imajući u vidu da je ta oblast u našoj stručnoj literaturi relativno skromno istražena, kao i činjenicu da pojedina zakonska rešenja, poput krivičnog dela ubijanja i zlostavljanja životinja i Zakona o dobrobiti životinja, predstavljaju novine u našem pravnom sistemu, autorka je tokom ovog projektonog ciklusa posebnu pažnju posvetila kritičkoj analizi navedenih zakonskih odredbi, njihovom poređenju sa inostranim pravnim izvorima i procenjivanju mogućnosti i ograničenja kada je u pitanju državna reakcija na okrutnost prema životinjama u Srbiji. Na osnovu zaključaka izvedenih iz svog istraživanja, autorka je nastojala da formuliše preporuke koje bi doprinele unapređenju kvaliteta analiziranih propisa i njihovoj efikasnijoj implementaciji u praksi i to u skladu sa principima biocentrične etike I evropskim i svetskim standardima u sferi zaštite životinja.

The study about effectiveness of anti-poaching activities inside and outside wildlife
protected areas in Tanzania was carried out in the Tarangire-Lake Manyara Complex; the
area defined by water shed boundaries centred on lakes Manyara and Burunge and
adjacent lands. The wild animals from Tarangire National Park (TNP) and Lake
Manyara National Park (LMNP) share the same ecosystem. The following parameters
were studied; the type of anti-poaching activities, factors necessitating their use and
administration; their practical applicability, factors hindering effective and efficient
performance and the effectiveness of anti-poaching activities. Four villages in the
complex were included in the study, which include Vilima vitatu, Mwada, Sangaiwe and
Mto wa Mbu. Structured household questionnaire and key informants checklists for
selected community members in the area, TNP and LMNP staff were used for data
collection. The study shows that anti-poaching activities inside and outside wildlife
protected areas are effective in protecting the area natural resources. With poachers arrest
in both TNP and LMNP being higher outside than inside these areas, the Protection
Departments and respondents suggested ways to reduce the incidences of poaching
through effective anti-poaching activities. The study recommends education, provision of
necessary tangible benefits, incentives use, problem animal control and promoting the
cultural tourism to community. The Protection Department staffing, modern facilities and
staff morale should be motivated. Evaluating effectiveness promotes adaptive
management; improves project/programme planning; and promotes accountability.

On March 17, 2022, the Madras high court banned cattle-grazing inside tiger reserves, sanctuaries and national parks throughout Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu has been slow to accord community and individual rights under the FRA, and the court has now taken away gram sabhas’ authority to regulate cattle-grazing. Thus, there is effectively a near-total ban on grazing in all forests across Tamil Nadu – even as the forest department continues to collect fees for grant of grazing permits

The use of body-gripping traps and snares for commercial and recreational trapping is banned on public lands in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Arizona, but most states still allow trapping for profit and pleasure, including Montana (Reed, “Trapping”).  Montana’s Furbearer Trapping Program (MFTP), administered by the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks (MDFWP), offers an apt example of U.S. trapping regulations and methods—and of the problems and moral issues that arise wherever trapping is legal.

Thirty-seven years since the Project Tiger, the decline in numbers is shocking - 1,827 tigers in 1972, only 1,411 today. Forest rights implementation has been sluggish with rampant violations and large-scale denial of rights, mostly by the forest bureaucracy, the revenue and tribal departments. An analysis of the legal provisions under various Acts reveals that none of the 39 notified Critical Tiger Habitats have obtained the consent of the forest dwellers and the gram sabhas, and are thus illegal. An elitist conservation policy, which has so far targeted only the tribals, has resulted in illegal encroachment and activities in the tiger reserves by the State.
