Systemic health is a scale-linking, emergent property of healthy interactions and relationships within complex dynamicsystems. The health of human beings, societies, ecosystems and the planetarylife support system is fundamentally interconnected and interdependent.Sustainability, as a process of community-based learning, is expressed throughdesign that is informed by ecological principles and adapted to local, regionaland global limits and opportunities. In general, sustainable design is synergetic,symbiotic, scale-linking, salutogenic and sacred. There is a need to integrateecological, social, cultural, economic and psychological (spiritual)considerations into a flexible and responsive strategy to facilitate thesustainability transition. Design for human and planetary health requires atransdisciplinary dialogue aiming for appropriate solutions and community-basedvisions of sustainability.

The book presents a framework for defining the natural evolution of economic systems based on the application of the value system framework. Borrowing from the extensive works of Dr. Clare W. Graves and the theory of Spiral Dynamics, the author builds upon his in-depth knowledge of macroeconomics, financial and real estate markets, and his decade-long experience with Graves’ successor, Dr. Don E. Beck (who wrote the forward for the book), to devise a comprehensive macro-memetic-economic model through which he reframes the United States economy through historical, present and future value systems cycles.

Tant au niveau planétaire qu’en Suisse, le Mouvement évangélique intrigue par sa croissance rapide. Selon Fath (chiffre de 2020), plus d’un chrétien sur quatre est protestant évangélique, ce qui représente environ 660 millions de personnes sur 2.5 milliards de chrétiens dans le monde. Cependant, la sécularisation, les approches alternatives, le non-conformisme, les dérives sectaires et le prosélytisme sont des causes de la diminution du rapport de la population suisse à la religion chrétienne.

Ce travail est basé sur l’hypothèse qu’une démarche prospective d’accompagnement permettrait aux églises évangéliques de Suisse romande de vivre des transformations managériales, au niveau de leur gouvernance, sans entacher leur raison d’être. La dimension prospective permettrait de redynamiser les églises évangéliques en améliorant leur image auprès de la société romande. Cette étude permettrait par ailleurs de mieux cerner les difficultés de notre siècle en matière de gouvernance et d’aider les églises évangéliques, par l’autonomie de leur forme de gouvernance congrégationaliste, à mieux s’y inscrire afin de répondre aux besoins sociétaux de demain.

Étant donné que chaque église évangélique possède sa propre raison d’être, il est plus approprié d’en choisir une comme modèle de base, qui serait d’accord de se remettre en question, en faisant preuve de résilience. Intéressée par cette démarche, l’Église Évangélique de Lonay (EEL) s’est portée volontaire pour ce sujet d’étude.

La méthodologie se basera sur une étude rétrospective-prospective, non expérimentale et de type transversal, car elle permet la reproductibilité de la démarche d’accompagnement avec fiabilité pour d’autres églises évangéliques. Le travail sera composé de 3 étapes :

• Étape 1 : analyse des besoins sociétaux de demain (en matière de gouvernance), à travers plusieurs cadres théoriques (la Spirale Dynamique de Clare W. Graves, les niveaux logiques de Robert Dilts et les quatre styles de leadership de Petit et Delanghe)

• Étape 2 : analyse de la gouvernance de l’EEL (pratiques et valeurs actuelles), à travers plusieurs outils (une enquête sous forme de questionnaire en ligne, la combinaison de la priorisation et de la charte des valeurs, ainsi que les profils Leonardo 3.4.5)

• Étape 3 : analyse des écarts (évaluation de la capacité au changement de l’EEL), à travers l’alignement spiral, celui des niveaux logiques et celui du style de leadership de la gouvernance de l’EEL avec les besoins sociétaux de demain

Un management plus agile de la gouvernance de l’EEL a pu être obtenu par la création d’une charte des valeurs, qui permet de donner une cohérence aux valeurs et un équilibre à l’EEL, car ces valeurs servent à guider, à orienter et à gouverner. De plus, les quatre principes d’une organisation apprenante permettent à la gouvernance de l’EEL d’être plus en phase avec son écosystème par l’intermédiaire d’une auto-organisation.

Finalement, l’approche « Visioning » a permis de synthétiser ce travail de master et d’évaluer la capacité au changement de l’EEL, tout en amenant un aspect dynamique stimulant le progrès. Les axes de développement pour le leadership stratégique ont permis de trouver des trajectoires possibles et souhaitables, à travers les recommandations écloses, qui permettront l’amélioration sur le long terme de l’efficacité de la gouvernance de l’EEL. Ainsi, les transformations managériales proposées à l’EEL, permettront à leur gouvernance de s’adapter aux besoins sociétaux de demain, tout en préservant leur raison d’être.

Since the beginning of human history people have always wondered about the cosmos however limited the educational horizons of a generation might be. People also have always wondered about space and time and the relation they bear to the unfurling of life from birth to death and the implications of the many faces of this topical question. Albert Einstein provides an angle to this issue and this will be used as a stepping stone to introduce a new perspective that proves to be challenging and very creative and which is derived from a spiral conception of space and time within the frameworks of an emergent Spiral Theory of Everything contrary to the existing linear and cyclic conceptions.

For nearly two decades, the theory of Spiral Dynamics has been used to dynamically model human evolution and information systems. In that time, however, many different versions and applications of the model have emerged. This article will diachronically trace the history of Spiral Dynamics, from the foundational theory of Clare Graves to its initial introduction by Don Beck and Chris Cowan and subsequent adaptation by Ken Wilber. A brief exploration of the various camps and their competing interpretations of Spiral Dynamics will permit some critical analysis of the model itself.

Everything that is part of life is created out of a tension between a current and potential reality that represents a vacant niche in the ecology of life. That tension, that vacuum, is what exerts a pull on the unified field (Lefferts 2012), and starts a process of giving form to the impulse that emerges out of the tension. That process, when looked at as a flow, can best be represented by the form of a torus. When looked at geometrically, it can be represented by Buckminster Fuller’s jitterbug model (Lefferts 2012), with an ongoing unfoldment and enfoldment, as consciousness expresses information holographically in energy-matter and space-time. The core motion of a torus is spinning and pulsing, which is why the term “volution” is so apt to describe it - “1. a rolling or revolving motion. 2. a spiral turn. 3. a whorl of a spiral shell” (Merriam-Webster online dictionary). “Volution” is also at the core of the words “evolution” and “involution”. In searching for a name to describe the process behind those two dynamics, “volution” serves us well.

The volution process itself can be seen as a breathing process, a continual pulsing of an energetic flow of information between on the one hand subtler dimensions of life that most humans do not perceive consciously and more defined and denser dimensions of life that humans tend to be able to see with their eyes and feel with their bodies. It describes how these various states of reality - as described for example by Wilber (2001) as causal, subtle and gross - interact with each other as one dynamic whole. This process ties in closely with work that has been done describing a holographic view of reality (Currivan 2017, Talbot 1991, Wilber 1982).

This theory of life has been explored already through the lens of physics (e.g. Bekenstein 2003, Chown 2009, Haramein 2013, Susskind 1995). Given the fundamental nature of this perspective, my interest is to explore how it relates to human culture and society. My thesis is that volution provides a way of looking at ourselves that can integrate yet transcend a developmental evolutionary perspective with an understanding of how we are related to all other aspects of life, in both time and space. This is what makes it “trans-linear”.

This book is an ambitious assertion of the inadequacy of trying to describe the forces of this world without reference to God. McFadyen's method is to seek to rehabilitate the language of sin-'sin-talk'-for public discourse. He argues that this rehabilitation is necessary as public discourse occurs in a pragmatically atheist environment and so misses the explanatory power that can only be found by reference to theological categories. He conceives of sin-talk as a reasonable explanation for human pathology alongside and additional to other disciplines. He works this out in relation to the doctrine of original sin, through an extended exploration of the literature relating to the pathologies of child sexual abuse and the Nazi holocaust. He then brings these into dialogue with theology through Augustine's doctrine of original sin and the binding of the will, and the lens of feminist theology. The force of argument and methodological openness he sustains throughout the book is as impressive as it is rare, which makes this a potentially paradigmatic engagement for practical theology. Regardless of whether the reader ends us swayed by McFadyen's reconception of original sin or his eventual conclusion the scope and ambition of this book sets a high bar for the various theological disciplines that might seek to contribute to public discourse.

Africa is the home of many peoples, many tribes and many beliefs. The decolonisation of Africa, of which the dismantling of apartheid is a significant, recent example, contributed to the awareness of the diversity of cultures on the African continent. More and more companies extend their footprint into Africa and globalisation and technology eroded time zones and boundaries.
Although the different countries in Africa share common characteristics such as poverty, high birth rates and economic dependence on the advanced countries, a lovely surprise await those who can find magic in self organisation and chaos, those who can see past the surface and acknowledge the underlying humanity that is visible to all travellers that lingers a bit.
This chapter explores the dynamics that will become visible if the lenses of economic wealth are suspended. It is an impossible task to describe the diversity that plays out in the African arena in one chapter. The conversation was delimited to the philosophy of Ubuntu, African Spiritual Consciousness and human niche or thinking system discussion on the dynamics in this continent. This article conceptualises the first code of spiral dynamics in more depth, Internationally the trend between leaders that knows spiral is to aspire to have a YELLOW centre of gravity. Globalization, consumerism, legislation and human rights issues impact on workplace demographics, changing the very nature thereof. It is of strategic importance to ensure that the benefits of diverse viewpoints and stakeholders are leveraged. However the underlying worldviews of economists, business leaders and consultants are often informed from a Western paradigm and solutions proposed and interventions facilitated are not integrated, integral, systemic or congruent with the containing environment or ecology.

In Inclusive Organizational Transformation, Dr Rica Viljoen acknowledges that diversity of thought presents both gifts and challenges to leadership in multi-national organizations. The existential question with which an individual is confronted impacts on his or her worldview. By continuously applying a specific worldview, certain gifts manifest. These are called Human Niches.

Here, Inclusivity is positioned as a radical transformational methodology with the purpose of unleashing the benefits of engagement and diversity of thought. The process of Inclusivity enables organizations to optimize the gifts of and contributions from a diverse workforce and unleash tacit knowledge.

Case studies from Ghana, South Africa, and one where the same strategy had to be implemented in Australia, Peru and Tanzania are included and insights gained from the dynamics observed are shared. A synthesis of Inclusivity is presented in a model, meta-insights are derived and the prerequisites for Inclusivity on individual, group and organizational domain are illustrated.

The academic legitimatization of Futures Studies has often been publicly defined by reference to popular film imagery and problem-oriented cycles. This essay explores the depth perspective offered by combining the Spiral Dynamics® model of human values systems with 'DIY' DVD commentaries. It differentiates between pop futures and critical/epistemological perspectives, and considers how the Film Scanning methodology may be applied in academic teaching and consultancy environments. Current debates within Cinema Studies about the 'auteur' hypothesis, authorship, genre, interpretation and New Hollywood's political economy are briefly considered. The DVD clips used in this essay are only a sample of the possible clips that could be used in the 'Film Scanning' process.

Sustainability is rapidly becoming an issue of critical importance
for designers and society as a whole. A complexity of dynamically
interrelated ecological, social, cultural, economic, and psychologi-
cal (awareness) problems interact and converge in the current crisis
of our unsustainable civilization. However, in a constantly chang-
ing environment, sustainability is not some ultimate endpoint,
but instead is a continuous process of learning and adaptation.
Designing for sustainability not only requires the redesign of our
habits, lifestyles, and practices, but also the way we think about
design. Sustainability is a process of coevolution and co-design that
involves diverse communities in making flexible and adaptable
design decisions on local, regional, and global scales. The transition
towards sustainability is about co-creating a human civilization that
flourishes within the ecological limits of the planetary life support
system.
Design is fundamental to all human activity. At the nexus of
values, attitudes, needs, and actions, designers have the potential to
act as transdisciplinary integrators and facilitators. The map of value
systems and perspectives described by Beck and Cowan 1 as “Spiral
Dynamics” can serve as a tool in facilitating “transdisciplinary

On the eve of the third millennium racism is still one of the most pervasive social evils in the world. Part of the problem is that attempts to eliminate racism have focused on surface differences of race, color, and biological supremacy. Such attempts do not get to the root of the problem, the deep-level value and belief systems that undergird racism. This paper introduces the Theory of Levels of Existence of the late Clare W. Graves, supplemented with the concept of “memes” from Richard Dawkins. Together these two perspectives comprise the bio-psycho- social-spiritual framework of Spiral Dynamics® that provides the best approach for unlearning and eliminating racism. The research shows that there is no single future of racism, but multiple futures depending on the memetic level of its expression. Thus, racism will fluctuate between worsened conditions to ones where it will be non-existent, depending at which level of existence people are operating. The paper closes with an explanation of MeshWORKS as a solutions process and ways of reducing racism for both individuals and institutions.

Those who are familiar with Clare W. Graves’ work, know him as the academic behind a more popular conception known as Spiral Dynamics. The theory and the book with the same name were introduced to the world by Don E. Beck, PhD and Christopher C. Cowan in 1996.  While their model preserves much of Graves’ lifelong work on values and change, it’s subsequent interpretations over the decades has watered down the science behind the original conception and silenced its philosophical and anthropological leanings in order to contain it within a narrow field of academic discipline.

Spiral Dynamics opened new perspectives in both theoretical psychology and applied fields like industrial psychology and psychology of peace. However there are some deficiencies in the approach that demand to be addressed for further development. The article analyzes them and develops another version of the idea that serves as a corner stone for spiral dynamics – the Spectral Growth. The scales for evaluating the level of development ("brightness") of the components of mental states, personalities, communities and the scale of brightness of works of art are presented. The applications for spiritual counseling, cultural psychology and historical analysis are discussed.

This work consists of a preliminary look at the relationship between Phi and the spiral scaling structures that that can be seen in DNA and the cosmos. It is pointed out that fractals have a built in structural self similarity as part of their make-up. The fractal dimension isn't an integer but is a number that has a fractional part. The mathematical properties of Phi are studied in various ways as series and product series. Series expansion of Phi using fractional exponents were determined in several ways in an attempt to determine the difficulty in handling such expansion

Building on a discourse-theoretical reading of securitization theory, this article theorizes and examines how two political entities can become locked in a negative spiral of identification that may lead to a violent confrontation. Through mutual and multifaceted securitization, each party increasingly construes the other as a threat to itself. When this representation spreads beyond the military domain to other dimensions (trade, culture, diplomacy), the other party is projected as "different" and "dangerous" at every encounter: positive mutual recognition is gradually blocked out. Military means then become the logical, legitimate way of relating: contact and collaboration in other issue-areas are precluded. Drawing on official statements 2014-2018, this article investigates how Norwegian-Russian relations shifted from being a collaborative partnership to one of enmity in the High North. The emerging and mutual pattern of representing the other as a threat across issue-areas since 2014 has become an "au-tonomous" driver of conflict-regardless of whether either party might originally have had offensive designs on the other.

This paper explores the role of worldview, consciousness, and epistemology as it relates to significant aspects of Christian faith. This will be done through the lens of different models and theories; namely, the model of Spiral Dynamics theory and Scott Peck’s model of the Four Stages of Spiritual Development. While this topic and the theories within it are esoteric in nature, it aims to make sense of these concepts for the layman interested in it by attempting to provide definitions to the terminology used and provide an extensive history as how these concepts came into being. Learning about these theories and models have been integral to how I have become a postmodern thinker and how it influences the way I approach my own faith. By successfully explaining epistemology, the Four Stages of Spiritual Development, and the theory of Spiral Dynamics, it will serve as an understanding for the primary purpose of this paper: to articulate my own worldview and shed light on the positions I take in (in no particular order): 1) Module 1, Lesson 2: Certainty & Faith by explanation of the epistemology of postmodernism; 2) Module 1, Lesson 3: Worldview questions by explanation of Spiral Dynamics theory; and 3) Module 1, Lesson 9: Faith and Reason by explanation of Peck’s theory of the Four Stages of Spiritual Development.

Narcissism is of such epidemic proportions that it was actually considered (http://www.npr.org/2010/12/11/131991083/it-s-all-about-me-but-is-narcissism-a-disorder) for elimination as a diagnostic category in the DSM V. [1] Simply put, narcissism is having
a pathological focus on one’s own self. “Pathological” in this case means that it is causing unnecessary suffering to one’s self and to others. Narcissism exists on a continuum from those who would fit the old psychiatric definition of Narcissistic Personality Disorder possessing a megalomaniacal sense of self-importance to the average self-absorption that is so prevalent in culture.

Truly progressive thinking is not some particular set of sociopolitical beliefs-however benevolent and avantgarde they may seem-limited to a specific locality and temporality, a particular party of thought. Truly progressive mind is luminous and vibrant spaciousness that endlessly and seamlessly and brightly and spontaneously integrates forms of being across time and space, itself an empty transcendent container that encompasses all, while not being tainted by anything, always already pure and radiant and innocent.

How can Spiral Dynamics practitioners, consultants and facilitators of societal change work best to bring into being the organisations of the future? What is called for by the times we are in and the conditions that we and our organisations face? This paper begins with the view, which will be elaborated as we go, that the methods of the past are not sufficient and that more is required of us. I take as our springboard these questions:-What approach to organisations is needed from Spiral Dynamics practitioners as we enter more visibly into the conditions that Clare Graves predicted as Western society enters the Life Conditions for Tier 2? What should we be bringing to this work arising from perspectives and ways of thinking that have emerged in the last 20 years? In the world beyond SD there have been progressive shifts in academic approach over the past decades, tussling with complexity and unpredictability. They have been pointing the way towards new approaches without quite finding the "simplicity that emerges the other side of complexity". Spiral Dynamics was ahead of its time. It did not get entirely caught in the conventional view of scientific, academic and intellectual validity, based on a mythology of objective rigour. Benefiting from Gravesian insights and its understanding of the stage-related views that people within organisations would have of their world, SD was able to recognise that subjective perceptions would make a systemic difference to organisational function. Even so, systems design in SD was unavoidably caught in aspects of the Orange worldview which conditioned the prevailing culture. It could not quite escape the tendency to see organisations as mechanisms, people as components. Organisations are objectified and engaged with largely from the outside. This has held us back from engaging with them as the living systems that they are, possessing inbuilt ecological intelligence and self-developing creative impulse. It has restricted our capacity to stimulate the organic development of their adaptive, collaborative intelligence and promote the strength of their being. This essay shapes the new ways of thinking that we need to bring and offers a clear way forward. It adds to the powerful toolset that Spiral Dynamics already has, proposes framing questions and presents flexible, collaborative, multi-faceted ways of working that are configured to share the organisation's journey and help them meet today's challenges.

The Meshworking approach is designed to develop effective multi-stakeholder cooperation, in which systemic solutions are created to complex issues. Meshworking is
a relatively new methodology. It is robust but also a work in progress and continuously
under development. It is through experience that our capabilities are growing. This essay shares the story of my exploration in the context of building organizational forms in CHE Netherlands and The Hague Center for Global Governance, Innovation and Emergence from 2006- 2012.

In this paper we have tried to deduce the possible origin of particle and evolution of their intrinsic properties through spiral dynamics.  We consider some of the observations which include exponential mass function of particles following a sequence when fitted on logarithmic potential spiral, inwardly rotating spiral dynamics in Reaction-Diffusion System, the separation of Electron’s Spin-Charge-Orbit into quasi-particles. The paper brings a picture of particles and their Anti Particles in spiral form and explains how the difference in structure varies their properties. It also explains the effects on particles in Accelerator deduced through spiral dynamics.

psychology Since the appearance of Abraham Maslow’s needs hierarchy in the 1950s, devel-opmental theories have played an important role in understanding the forms and directions of human growth and development. The applications of such theories range from management strategies to psychotherapy but also play an important role in understanding transformation processes in education. Spiral Dynamics,1 (Beck & Cowen, 1996) a developmental model of value structures, is nearly as popular today as Maslow’s model was in the 1970s. Curiously, it is based almost entirely on the work of Clare Graves, an obscure academic psychologist who did most of his research from the 1950s through the 1970s. It is hoped that this review, and The Never Ending Quest itself, will shed light on these all but forgotten origins.
