In this paper, a resource management technique is proposed to handle the request of Virtual Machines (VM’s) as per the need of users, consisting of resources (mips, vm image size, network bandwidth, number of cpu’s) containing cloudlets which in turn are cloud-based application services (content delivery, social networks) commonly deployed in data centers. There are three priority mechanisms governing the user’s requests namely low, medium and high priority requests. Here, the priority is given to the amount of VM’s requested. To implement the above concept, the Hybrid Cloud model is used by which the benefits of both the private and public clouds can be reaped. This model has its advantages that it proves to be cost-effective as the resources are effectively utilized from private clouds and only when exhausted are taken from public clouds which is cheaper.

The aim of this study is to collect evidence for textile recycling from a prehistoric and historic perspective. The basis are original textile finds and not, as might be expected, written or pictorial sources. The material presented here focuses on archaeological finds, especially on prehistoric to early medieval evidence from Central Europe, also mentioning some interesting examples from medieval and Early Modern times.
This is not a comprehensive study of all possible secondary uses of textiles, but it shall demonstrate different interesting case studies such as re-use and recycling of garments with examples from Bronze Age till early modern period. We also learn from Early Medieval evidence that textile rags have been employed for production processes e.g. of ceramic vessels, clay figurines or for thin bronze objects. In the salt-mines Hallstatt and Dürrnberg in Austria, hundreds of textile scraps have been found, left back in the mines after secondary use as make-shift binding material or sanitary items.
Worn-out textiles were used for caulking wooden ships, as sealing for water-management in prehistoric copper mines and as insulation material for medieval castles. At least, textile scraps also ended in medieval and early modern latrinae – after they have been used as “toilet-paper”. The evidence collected demonstrates a careful resource-management.

Resumo Ainda são escassos os estudos sobre o gerenciamento dos recursos em espaços pedagógicos, tanto em organizações públicas, quanto privadas. Neste sentido, busca-se analisar se a prática gerencial dos recursos de determinado espaço pedagógico, de uma instituição que opera no Norte do Brasil, pode ser considerada participativa. A metodologia se constituiu de pesquisa e revisão bibliográfica. Posteriormente aplicou-se a pesquisa empírica, seguida da organização e discussão dos dados obtidos. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas centradas num modelo cujo protocolo previu a análise do gerenciamento de cinco tipos de recursos. PARTICIPATORY MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES IN PEDAGOGICAL AREAS Abstract There are still few studies on the management of resources in pedagogical spaces in both public and private organizations. This study aims to analyze if the managerial practice of the resources of a certain pedagogical space of an institution that operates in the North of Brazil can be considered participatory. The methodology consisted initially of research and bibliographical review. Subsequently, the empirical research was applied, followed by the organization and discussion of the data obtained. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews centered on a model whose protocol predicted the analysis of the management of five types of resources. The study showed that participation in the management of the resources of the pedagogical space analyzed is limited.

The original edition of the "Strategic Leadership Primer," published in 1998, served the U.S. Army War College (USAWC) well as a basic overview of Strategic Leadership. Written by Dr. Rod Magee with the assistance of several other faculty members, it was intended as an orientation reading for students arriving at the USAWC whose backgrounds were primarily in the tactical and operational field environment. The Primer was useful because there was no other adequate work that described and defined strategic leadership in terms that could be understood and applied by USAWC students. Multi-tenancy is a key component of Software as a Service (SaaS) paradigm. Multi-tenant software has gained a lot of attention in academics, research and business arena. They provide scalability and economic benefits for both cloud service providers and tenants by sharing same resources and infrastructure in isolation of shared databases, network and computing resources with Service level agreement (SLA) compliances. In a multitenant scenario, active tenants compete for resources in order to access the database. If one tenant blocks up the resources, the performance of all the other tenants may be restricted and a fair sharing of the resources may be compromised. The performance of tenants must not be affected by resource-intensive activities and volatile workloads of other tenants. Moreover, the prime goal of providers is to accomplish low cost of operation, satisfying specific schemas/SLAs of each tenant. Consequently, there is a need to design and develop effective and dynamic resource sharing algorithms which can handle above mentioned issues. This work presents a model referred as Multi-Tenant Dynamic Resource Scheduling Model (MTDRSM) embracing a query classification and worker sorting technique enabling efficient and dynamic resource sharing among tenants. The experiments show significant performance improvement over existing model.

This work addresses analytically the impact of multi-cell, multi-operator interference on the overall radio resources when multiple operators co-exist and share a common pool of spectrum. We propose a centralised dynamic spectrum allocation (DSA) scheme that is able to measure the interference level and interact dynamically to minimise interference and enhance spectrum utilisation while maintaining a satisfactory level of QoS. Furthermore, a concise system model and framework able to describe the interaction among different operators is presented.
