Project organized in collaboration between the Master's course "Technologies for web marketing" at the University of Pisa and Google Marketing Challenge. This project consisted of a 1 month Google Campaign for a non-profit association, in our case the Caritas Lodigiana Association. It allowed us to develop and put into practice the different Google Tools, involving:
- Google Ads

In the past, focus of e-learning researches was mostly on technologies and materials which are directly related with learning environment such as learning management system (LMS), content management system (CMS), course contents etc. However, after emergence of big data concept, direction of researches has shifted to extract the hidden knowledge to be used by decision makers. Thus, user habits, content quality, LMS/CMS qualifications and many other issues can be improved using data stored in e-learning environment. An overview is presented of resources and web analytics strategies useful in setting solutions for capturing usage statistics and assessing audiences for open access academic journals. A set of complementary metrics to citations is contemplated to help journal editors and managers to provide evidence of the performance of the journal as a whole, and of each article in particular, in the web environment. The measurements and indicators selected seek to generate added value for editorial management in order to ensure its sustainability. The proposal is based on three areas: counts of visits and downloads, optimization of the website alongside with campaigns to attract visitors, and preparation of a dashboard for strategic evaluation. Many companies diligently establish their presence on Social Networking Services (SNSs) as they recognize Social Media Marketing (SMM) will be the next “holy grail of marketing”. However, yet the true value of SMM remains unclear because marketing based on social networking still defines its best practices and metrics. This paper provides a small step towards understanding how to unlock a potential of SMM through analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the flagship SMM platform Facebook. The case study of five largest Premier League brands analyses relationships among Facebook SMM KPIs and identifies several interesting connections. The most important managerial implication of our analysis suggests that the number of Facebook fans, although often criticized as the relevant SMM metric, is the most important SMM KPI.

Il nuovo millennio si è aperto all’insegna di profonde rivoluzioni sociali, culturali e tecnologiche. Il mondo contemporaneo è diventato sempre più connesso e globalizzato. Il novecento è passato alla storia con il nome di “secolo breve”. Nonostante ciò si è assistito, negli ultimi decenni del XX secolo, alla nascita delle principali rivoluzioni prima citate. Espressioni e segnali, in quel periodo, di un mondo pronto a proiettarsi verso un processo di globalizzazione non solo dei mercati, ma delle culture. Questo progetto ha un nome particolarmente ardito: “l’impresa di comunicare”. Il gioco di parole non è casuale. Impresa e comunicazione sono aspetti culturali ed economici legati fra loro in modo profondo e sinergico. Per capire in modo chiaro questo concetto si può ricorrere ad un’ulteriore frase chiave che sottolinea come il binomio impresa-comunicazione sia non solo inscindibile, ma fondamentale: la comunicazione è di per se fare impresa, l’impresa senza comunicazione è destinata a fallire.
Il concetto di impresa quindi si allarga di nuovi valori concettuali e semantici. Sebbene in termini economici l’impresa abbia una precisa definizione metodologica, in tale progetto si cerca di non soffermarsi unicamente al concetto di impresa attraverso l’uso della sua definizione economica. Bensì  si cerca di sottolineare l’eccezionale impegno che si cela dietro lo sforzo di fare sia impresa che comunicazione. Impegno che si traduce in sforzi produttivi, creativi ed imprenditoriali arditi e avventuristici i quali sono soggetti al rischio di fallire nei propri intenti. Si intuisce quindi che impegno, conoscenza e coraggio sono tutti valori necessari per un’impresa sia comunicativa che imprenditoriale, ma non sono sempre del tutto sufficienti. Il rischio infatti è un’ altro elemento che rafforza il rapporto di sinergia che vi è tra impresa e comunicazione. In questo quadro molto complesso, sul come impresa e comunicazione siano in realtà due facce della stessa medaglia, è necessario all’interno di questo progetto di tesi si definire con chiarezza le complesse tematiche che legano il concetto di impresa e di comunicazione. Tale necessità inoltre è ulteriormente rafforzata dall’incredibile periodo storico in cui oggi noi viviamo. Periodo questo scosso da profondi cambiamenti repentini e radicali, che piuttosto che consolidarsi in anni o decenni come avveniva in passato oggi ci travolgono in brevissimo tempo. Infatti assistiamo, nell’arco di poche settimane o mesi, assistiamo al consolidamento di nuove forme e di nuove dinamiche culturali, le quali hanno profonde ripercussioni nella sfera sia sociale che in quella economica. Per questi e altri motivi, tale progetto di tesi si articola in 4 capitoli in cui si affrontano rispettivamente 4 tematiche fondamentali per la comprensione e la lettura: sia del passato dell’impresa e della comunicazione, che dell’incredibile periodo in cui oggi noi viviamo. I 4 temi affrontano rispettivamente le tematiche: l’impresa tradizionale, l’era postindustriale, le comunicazioni non convenzionali, la comunicazione valoriale. Tali tematiche seppur complesse sono in realtà  molto vicine a noi, viviamo infatti quotidianamente tali tematiche, attraverso l’esperienza diretta. L’evoluzioni in corso colpiscono e travolgono sia il mondo dell’impresa che quello della comunicazione. Nel primo capitolo di questo progetto di tesi si effettua un’analisi approfondita su come si organizzi, sia strutturalmente che nei suoi aspetti operativi, un’impresa. Ovviamente tali nozioni sono legate ad un modello ideologico ed operativo di impresa definita “tradizionale”, e per tanto tali indicazioni teoriche fungono da nozioni base per comprendere, in un successivo passo le mutazioni, le evoluzioni portate dal mondo della rete, temi questi trattati nei successivi capitoli. Sempre nel primi capitolo si affronta una delicata tematica legata al concetto di marketing, anche esso definito “tradizionale”, e delle implicazioni nel mondo della comunicazione nella seconda metà del XX secolo. Alla fine si affronta il modello comunicativo di riferimento nel XX secolo, il Broadcasting. Si analizza in tale paragrafo gli aspetti sociologici legati a questo forma di comunicazione di massa unidirezionale e univoca. Tale passaggio è fondamentale per comprendere il cambiamento delle società dal XX al XXI secolo, quindi di società passate da un’era industriale a un’era postindustriale. Nel secondo capitolo si affrontano invece i temi legati al fenomeno della globalizzazione. Società, quelle contemporanee, travolte da questo insolito e inedito fenomeno. Siamo di fatto dinanzi quindi a una nuova era. L’era postindustriale è caratterizzata da profondi mutamenti sociali, economici e culturali. Tecnologie, sempre più evolute e sempre più penetranti nel tessuto sociale, stimolano di fatto l’istaurarsi di nuove dinamiche culturali ed economiche. La rete in questo senso è lo strumento cardine di questa rivoluzione, attraverso essa assistiamo alla diffusione e all’evoluzione nel mondo delle nuove dinamiche. Anche il marketing è travolto da questo nuovo strumento così straordinario. Si sviluppano nel marketing forme di comunicazioni definite “non-convenzionali” le quali si sviluppano e si diffondono attraverso la rete. Nel terzo capitolo vediamo come tali comunicazioni “non-convenzionali” si diffondono attraverso la rete. Viene analizzato nel dettaglio la capacità di diffusione “virale” (contagiosa) dei contenuti promozionali definiti non-convenzionali. Attacchi creativi che penetrano nel quotidiano sviluppando enorme meraviglia e interesse. Sviluppare emozioni e coinvolgimento, questo è lo scopo di queste nuove non-convenzionali forme di comunicazione. Ovviamente tutto ciò va condiviso tra i propri simili attraverso blog, social network, motori di ricerca, piattaforme video (You Tube) e molto altro. È un mondo quello contemporaneo basato sulla condivisione di contenuti di ogni tipo, il più delle volte autoprodotti. Fenomeni sia culturali che economici nascono sempre più spesso dal web e si trasformano in veri è propri imperi economici come nel caso di esempi clamorosi come: Amazon, iTunes, Google e molti altri esempi. Individui e imprese diventano partecipi di questo nuovo palcoscenico cibernetico dove la visibilità è l’elemento principale per conoscere a farsi conoscere, visibilità acquisita ovviamente attraverso la rete e i suoi strumenti. Il quarto è ultimo capitolo di questo progetto è dedicato al “progetto artistico”. La rivoluzione cibernautica in atto coinvolge molti aspetti del mondo della comunicazione. Un’aspetto su cui ho voluto soffermare la mia attenzione, per la costruzione di questo mio progetto di tesi, è rivolto verso il mondo del branding. Il quale da sempre è considerato il ramo della comunicazione pubblicitaria più prolifero di innovazioni, una vera è propria fucina di sperimentazioni di analisi e di sviluppo di nuove tendenze, di nuove forme comunicative e di nuovi contenuti. Quest’ambito negli ultimi anni decenni si è di fatto dimostrato come il precursore della “comunicazione valoriale”. La comunicazione valoriale è quella forma di comunicazione che incentra i propri obbiettivi comunicativi verso l’espressione e la condivisione dei valori comuni verso il pubblico e verso i propri consumatori. Il consumatore non è più visto come un’individuo passivo, ma bensì agente attivo del cambiamento attraverso la condivisione degli stessi valori del brand attraverso soprattutto la rete.
Tale cambiamento non investe solo imprese private o pubbliche, investe soprattutto le istituzioni. Istituzioni che devono rapportarsi con i propri cittadini in modo del tutto diverso dal passato. Il pubblico sta mutando il modo con cui si rapporta con le istituzioni. È necessario un’ aggiornamento dei canoni tradizionali delle istituzioni, su come esse interagiscono con i propri cittadini. Per questo progetto artistico si è scelto il caso delicato dell’Aquila post-terremoto. Raccontando la voglia di riscossa dei propri cittadini e il desiderio di ricostruire la bellezza di un territorio “scosso”, in tutti i sensi, da un’evento drammatico. Racconto in questa tesi come le istituzioni hanno risposto alle esigenze dei propri cittadini in un momento così drammatico.
Alla conclusione del 4 è ultimo capitolo affronto il tema della “comunicazione valoriale” prendendo ad esempio il brand della famosa casa motociclistica Harley Davidson. Nel paragrafo in discussione si tratta il tema legato alla comunicazione valoriale abbinadolo al mondo delle imprese private, prendendo come esempio famoso la storica e centenaria casa motociclistica. La quale, nonostante le mode, è riuscita a sopravvivere nei decenni proiettando il proprio brand e le proprie moto verso il futuro, tenendo quindi sempre in considerazione il passato storico della casa motociclistica e al contempo rivolgendo la propria filosofia aziendale al futuro e all’evoluzione del brand. Chi acquista una Harley Davidson acquista una fetta di quello che è il mito del “sogno americano”: libertà, fratellanza, esplorazione (mito della frontiera), visioni panoramiche di una natura selvaggia e incontaminata. Questi sono i valori a cui il brand Harley Davidson si è sempre ispirato per la costruzione delle proprie moto, soddisfacendo i desideri di milioni di motociclisti nel mondo, i quali non chiedono nient’altro ad una moto Harley Davidson che soddisfare i propri desideri di avventura.

Web spammers used Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques to increase search-ranking of web sites. In this paper we have study the essentials SEO techniques, such as; directory submission, keyword generation and link exchanges. The impact of SEO techniques can be applied as marketing technique and to get top listing in major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Our study focuses on these techniques from four different companies' perspectives of United Kingdom and Pakistan. According to the these companies, these techniques are low cost and high impacts in profit, because mostly customers focus on major search engine to find different products on internet, so SEO technique provides best opportunity to grow their business. This paper also describes the pros and cons of using these searh engine optimization techniques in above four companies. We have concluded that these techniques are essential to increase their business profit and minimize their marketing cost.

This paper develops a flexible methodology to analyze the effectiveness of different variables on various dependent variables which all are times series and especially shows how to use a time series regression on one of the most important and primary index (page views per visit) on
Google analytic and in conjunction it shows how to use the most suitable data to gain a more accurate result.

Search engine visitors have a variety of impact on page views which cannot be described by
single regression. On one hand referral visitors are well-fitted on linear regression with low
impact. On the other hand, direct visitors made a huge impact on page views. The higher
connection speed does not simply imply higher impact on page views and the content of web page and the territory of visitors can help connection speed to describe user behavior. Returning visitors have some similarities with direct visitors.

Web analytics tools provide a wide range of information regarding the performance of a company. This information is valuable for assessing the strategic performance of a company. However, Web analytics tools at their current state of development fall short in providing all the necessary information and data analysis functionality that is required to assess the strategic performance and the digital marketing priorities of businesses. This paper utilizes DEMATEL (i.e. Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method in order to investigate how the Balanced Scorecard Model can be associated with data collected from the Google analytics. The data in this study are collected from the management and the Website of a company that provides tourism services in Greece. This research also examines the potential of using Web analytics in strategic decision analysis.

Abstract:     
This study aims to investigate the role of service quality in tourists' revisit and the development of tourism industry. It initially reviews the importance of tourism industry and the concept and dimensions of service quality, and then it deals with the impact of service quality in tourism and customer satisfaction. Finally, it presents the theoretical model of the research indicating the dimensions of quality in tourism. The results from the research showed that such dimensions as Quality of accessibility, accommodation, venue and their components contribute directly in satisfaction of tourists, their intend to return and eventually development of tourism industry in a region.

At the 2014 Electronic Resources & Libraries conference held in Austin, Texas,
four colleagues from three institutions shared a panel presentation entitled “EZproxy for

This assignment was designed as an in-class workshop for public relations students, working in "agency teams," as part of their senior capstone campaigns course. For the first stage of their campaign proposal (also referred to as "book") development, students are required to research the online publics of the client organization. This work builds upon the information shared during the client briefing and helps students prepare for doing primary research of their own prior to campaign development. This assignment illustrates the value of digital research methods to understand who is already following the organization online and how they are engaging with them and their content. Finally, this assignment provides students with the opportunity to dig into analytic data and work as a team to analyze findings and develop profiles of key publics-much in the way one would in a professional agency setting. The most basic task of creating and sharing of information, and the presentation of the results and experience of scientists' research is the most important duty of scientific functions alongside learning from one another. Each university sets up a regulatory board for the symposium, and each symposium is held at that university for the first time. Challenges can thus sometimes be experienced with necessary symposium preparations, websites, technical processes, and the planning of activities, etc. The profiles of symposium participants needs to be defined in order to provide more concrete predictions for a diverse array of symposiums. As this study is qualitative, the document analysis technique was used. According to the findings of the research, symposium participants focused their attention primarily on transportation and accommodation, registration fees, important dates, the symposium programme, and published notices. Of those showing interest in the symposium, most were between 25 – 34 years of age, followed by 33 – 44 and 18 – 24 years of age. It appears that most of the participants were from Turkey, Russia, and the United States of America. Participants mainly used Windows, Android, and iOS-based communication systems, and the number of those using mobile devices were on par with those using desktops and laptops.

This chapter discusses ways in which a wiki-based learning management system can be employed to support middle school and high school students’ digital project-based work, including game design and creation, file management, collaboration and information-seeking, towards their development of introductory computer science expertise and digital literacy. In the program discussed, middle school and high school aged students learn how to design interactive web games about a school subject or about a subject of personal interest, by taking a game design class daily, for credit and a grade for an entire school year. They work individually and in teams to successfully design a game, while using a wiki-based learning management system (LMS) to support their knowledge-building, in a blended learning modality. In this guided discovery-based learning program, students rely upon each other, the LMS resources, and their teacher for instructional guidance. This chapter provides an overview of the theory underscoring the game design program’s deployment of this wiki-based LMS, and addresses ways in which the wiki-based LMS has been implemented. The chapter also highlights study findings on student wiki uses, and offers a discussion of the use of site metrics for assessment of student engagement and resource uses. The Discussion summarizes the opportunities presented to educators in using wikis to support students’ collaborative knowledge-building, computational thinking and digital literacy.
