See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

vmqtyart asked:

How come all of your posts still appear in reblogs after you deleted your own account? Why aren't they deleted?

Answer: Hey, @vmqtyart!

Thanks for your question. It’s a good one, but this is really just how Tumblr works! You can delve into this more over at the Help Center article about deleting your account, which you can find right here.

Once a post is reblogged, that reblog becomes the property of the blog that reblogged it. While deleting your account or blog will remove your posts, it will not affect anyone else’s reblogged copies.

We hope this helps. Keep ’em coming, folks.

medazzawhore asked:

I have a suggestion about videos especially regarding tumblr premium, when can tumblr premium users post unlimited video length? Like on Tumblr the length goes up to 20 minutes. In the future, can we post videos regardless of length? Like 1hr, 2hr, 3hr, etc? Instead of the 20 minutes being the only long form video length for Tumblr premium users?

This is my only issue with Tumblr premium.

Answer: Hello, @medazzawhore!

So, there’s a shorter answer and a longer answer.

The first: great idea! We love this, and we’ll see what we can do. It may only require a simple update.

The second: that said, as much as we like the idea, even YouTube doesn’t allow it. There are then piracy considerations, and it is a potential content moderation nightmare. Like, for example, the whole Bee Movie. We love this idea, just as we love Bee Movie, but it will require thought and discussion before anything is (potentially) implemented.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will advise you, as always, to keep an eye on @changes for any news on this one.

We love your ideas. Keep ‘em coming, folks.

spicyseal asked:

Hey there, I was wondering if it would be possible for Tumblr to allow Premium subscribers to post higher resolution and larger file size images and gifs? I think it would be beneficial for artists who work with large files, and could be a nice perk that’d make Premium feel more worthwhile for some! Maybe the ability to post more images in a single post could be an idea as well for long comics and such?

Answer: Hi there @spicyseal!

This is a great idea, and it’s something a few of us on the team have shown real enthusiasm for.

So, we would love to have this, and it would be very cool to have it. We can say for sure it’s something we can certainly play with behind the scenes, so leave it with us for now. We’ll look into it and, hopefully, there will be some news for you soon.

Have a great day! Keep the ideas coming, folks.

If my post gets reblogged to a Community I’m not in, will I get a notification about that? Or any indication of the activity on that post within the Community?

Also, can we get notifications when Community members are reacting to our posts within a Community? Right now I only see the reaction emojis people in the Community have put on my post if I go into the Community and look at the post again.

Thanks!

Answer: Hey there, @themirokai!

Not right now, but we actually have this ticketed! It may even be implemented before this answer goes live—you can see the latest over at @changes.

Hmm, now that’s an interesting idea to discuss with the team! We love this idea, but we don’t support that yet. It’s a good next step after we add activity items that your content was reblogged to a community in the first place. Leave this with us, and we hope to have news for you before too long.

Thanks for your questions, and keep them coming! Have a great day.

matews asked:

hey i really would appreciate the function we may share tumblr posts on instagram stories, not as a screenshot, but fancy like twitter or threads do, also have the “open on tumblr” on down of the user who share it :)

Answer: Hello there, @matews!

Good question. Unfortunately, this is not up to us at all—it’s up to Instagram to support it or not.

But it would be nice to have. Instagram doesn’t support automated posting, but for manual posting, there might be one or two things that we could do on the backend. Leave this with us, and if we make any progress with it, you will know here or at @changes.

Thanks for your question!

Disabling likes.

Hey, folks! We’ve received numerous questions about disabling likes as a way of forcing people to reblog, so we thought we would put this answer together before WIP takes a short break over the holidays.

Unfortunately, we don’t think we would ever add an option to control likes in the same way we have the option to control reblogs and replies on normal Tumblr blogs. Likes serve an extremely important function as a way for us to understand how to recommend content to others—and it very much affects those algorithms that help power the For You feed, the “Because you liked…” recommendations, and how we sort posts in search results. People engaging with a post in any way—liking, reblogging, replying, Blazing, following—can help boost that post to people who haven’t seen it before.

However, we did make the conscious decision not to include likes in our new Communities feature and instead focus on comments. We may revisit that, but the idea with communities speaks to a need you’re talking about—the desire to have a known group of people who will appreciate your work, instead of throwing it out there to the void and hoping people see it.

We hope you try that out and see if it helps here! Thanks for your question.

spyderzfrommars asked:

Wondering if we will get the option to report AI generated content that leads to things like art theft and deep fake nude/explicit photos of people? I'm seeing a lot and there's no real way to report it and have it taken down

Answer: Hey there, @spyderzfrommars!

Thanks for getting in touch here. This is a serious and timely issue that we are trying to tackle as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible.

We are continuing to work on this, but for now, we would ask that you please use the existing Report tool using your best judgment to match the issue you’re seeing—we will take it from there. This is a complex and evolving problem, but we can assure you that a human reviews all of these reports.

Thanks for your question, and keep them coming.

thornhands asked:

Hello!

Is there a possibility that the window to add ALT Text to pictures can be made movable?

At least in my Firefox browser it is fixed and covers picture I want to try and alt text.

I have memory issues and even trying to remember short things like how many persons are on a picture or other relevant facts tend to just disappear on the way from one synapse to another so being able to move that window and take another look at the picture without also having to have the picture open in another app would be a big help.

Answer: Hi there, @thornhands!

We love this idea! And we totally agree with you—it would be lovely and useful to have.

As it happens, we worked on something like this for a previous Hack Day, but due to some constraints, we haven’t been able to polish it off and ship it yet. We would love to though! Perhaps, with a little luck, we’ll do so if we have bandwidth next year. If there’s news, you’ll get it here and at @changes.

Thanks for getting in touch, and keep the questions coming, folks.

jadeloverxd asked:

Will there a feature that lets us look at posts that were made in a certain year under a certain tag. In the search bar? Like how when you go into the archive of someone’s blog and you see all the posts they made in a month. Or year. I’m trying to find a certain post under a certain tag but can’t find it when I go into the search bar because there’s only a certain timeline we can search. Like would it be possible to see posts from 2016 or even 2013?

Answer: Hey, @jadeloverxd!

We’d love to include posts older than 2017, but it comes at a cost.

Cataloging the first 10 years of Tumblr’s life with our new search infrastructure will eat up a lot of our time and space, with diminishing returns. We know most people don’t access posts that old, even when we did support going back to that time. Going back before 2015 would actually require us to do a lot of difficult digging, as we weren’t properly indexing posts before that time in the first place.

Instead, we’re trying to focus our current efforts on improving searching within blogs (which we’ve heard a lot of feedback about!) and reducing the amount of spam and otherwise bad content for the things most people are searching around Tumblr for.

We hope this helps clarify things. If we have any updates, you’ll be the first to know.

deadgodjess asked:

Hi! Will we get the ability to pick & choose who can & and can not reblog betond the "anyone" & "noone" options? I'm thinking along the lines of how we can decide that only people who have followed us for at least 2 weeks can reply to our posts. If it's possible, it would be cool to have a "Only me," "Only Mutuals" and "Only ppl who've been following me for at least 2 weeks" options.

Answer: Hello there, @deadgodjess!

You have a point here—it is wildly inconsistent. Between replies, mentions, and reblogs, all three options have different options.

Ideally, it would be great if the same options were available for all three, that they were ordered and worded the same, and were consistently presented. For example:

  • Everyone can [reply][mention][reblog].
  • Only those you follow can [reply][mention][reblog].
  • Only mutuals following you for a week can [reply][mention][reblog].
  • Only mutuals can [reply][mention][reblog].
  • No one can [reply][mention][reblog].

It’s not sure where this falls on our priority list as things stand, given it is not without its complications, but leave this with us. If there are any updates, you will be the first to know. Thanks for your question!
