Answer: Hey, @vmqtyart!

Thanks for your question. It’s a good one, but this is really just how Tumblr works! You can delve into this more over at the Help Center article about deleting your account, which you can find right here.

Once a post is reblogged, that reblog becomes the property of the blog that reblogged it. While deleting your account or blog will remove your posts, it will not affect anyone else’s reblogged copies.

This is a great question. Your answer, as things work right now…

Blog A makes a post and leaves it open for anyone to reblog.
Blog B queues a reblog of Blog A’s post.
Then Blog A changes their mind and edits the same post so that no one can reblog it.
Blog B’s queued reblog publishes just fine.

This does not feel right to us. We have filed this as a bug and will have our folk looking into this as soon as possible. Thanks for the question, and keep it coming!

We love giving you the ability to personalize things! And the good news is you already can do all of what you want in our mobile apps.

You can change the fonts. When on a paragraph, long-press the Aa icon and select another font.
Changing text color is also available when composing a post using the mobile app. All you have to do is highlight some text, and color pickers appear.
Color palettes are available on Android and iOS, too! Go to [Snowman] > ⚙️ > General Settings > Color Palette.

We love this idea, too, and we would love to get to work on it someday. However, our hypothetical plate is pretty full right now, so while we can’t make any promises, please know that we’ve made a note of it. On our hypothetical wish list.

So we one day hope to hypothetically push the hypothetical peas to the side of our (you get the idea…) plate and make a little room for this project. In the meantime, keep an eye on @changes for updates.

We’re afraid to say it really depends. Some things can take a little longer to roll out to users depending on the complexity of the change. In the case of shortening long posts we are still running experiments and A/B tests, though it shouldn’t be too long until it arrives with you.

It may also be helpful to you to refer to this WIP on the subject of A/B testing, which we believe will also help to answer your question.

Great news! Not only can you do this, but it is very straightforward.

On Android only, you can simply disable “Upload” in the Notifications menu in your phone settings, as displayed in the video below. This will stop notifications whenever you post, reblogs, etc.

On iOS, the system Notifications setting disables the whole notifications for a dedicated app. Or, to be more specific, you need to enable/disable the available notification settings in the Tumblr application Settings.

What you’re remembering is the Themed Posts feature from Tumblr Labs! It was never moved to the new web experience due to technical complexity. For example, we would need to figure out how to handle user experience issues like unreadable color combos in a way that respects everyone’s theming choices. So while it’s not on our roadmap at this time, we also think it would be a fun feature to have. Maybe we’ll get back to it someday!

That said, we are working on a new setting to let you use the blog view with palette colors. This was the subject of a previous WIP request—in the meantime, stay tuned to @changes.

While we don’t currently have the function to trim your posts in the way XKit provides, we love the idea of editing reblog trails just as much as you do. We will keep it in mind for all the roleplayers on Tumblr.

We are also super fans of reblog chains. Who isn’t?

Our search results only show original posts. Once you find those, you can see and filter reblogs with added content on a post using the new notes view.

Unfortunately, displaying reblogs in search results is not a straightforward problem, and would require a lot of effort across multiple teams at Tumblr and Automattic. We can’t promise to implement this feature anytime soon, but it is on our list. Thank you so much for bringing it up! Feedback like this helps us figure out what to work on next.
