See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

medazzawhore asked:

I have a suggestion about videos especially regarding tumblr premium, when can tumblr premium users post unlimited video length? Like on Tumblr the length goes up to 20 minutes. In the future, can we post videos regardless of length? Like 1hr, 2hr, 3hr, etc? Instead of the 20 minutes being the only long form video length for Tumblr premium users?

This is my only issue with Tumblr premium.

Answer: Hello, @medazzawhore!

So, there’s a shorter answer and a longer answer.

The first: great idea! We love this, and we’ll see what we can do. It may only require a simple update.

The second: that said, as much as we like the idea, even YouTube doesn’t allow it. There are then piracy considerations, and it is a potential content moderation nightmare. Like, for example, the whole Bee Movie. We love this idea, just as we love Bee Movie, but it will require thought and discussion before anything is (potentially) implemented.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will advise you, as always, to keep an eye on @changes for any news on this one.

We love your ideas. Keep ‘em coming, folks.

spicyseal asked:

Hey there, I was wondering if it would be possible for Tumblr to allow Premium subscribers to post higher resolution and larger file size images and gifs? I think it would be beneficial for artists who work with large files, and could be a nice perk that’d make Premium feel more worthwhile for some! Maybe the ability to post more images in a single post could be an idea as well for long comics and such?

Answer: Hi there @spicyseal!

This is a great idea, and it’s something a few of us on the team have shown real enthusiasm for.

So, we would love to have this, and it would be very cool to have it. We can say for sure it’s something we can certainly play with behind the scenes, so leave it with us for now. We’ll look into it and, hopefully, there will be some news for you soon.

Have a great day! Keep the ideas coming, folks.

okayto asked:

Two suggestions for Premium:

  1. Have you considered having a reminder if monthly things, like the free TummblrMart item haven't been used as the end of the month approaches?

and/or,

2. Have you considered letting that (and the included monthly Blaze) stack/roll over from month to month?

Please, I keep forgetting.

Answer: Hi, @okayto!

So regarding question one: friendly reminders like these sound like a great idea! We love this, in fact. We’ll take this one back to the drawing board and see what we can do, as it would be very useful to have.

As for the second suggestion, as much as we love it, it’s just not something we are considering right now and, as things stand, it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon, unfortunately.

Thanks for your questions, and keep ’em coming!

anew-flame asked:

Hi wip folks! I’d like to make a couple monetization option suggestions for our beloved hellsite.

Obvi I don’t know what the numbers look like so I’m not sure how feasible it is, but what are the chances y’all could bring back ad-free browsing as its own thing separate from premium?

Tumblr Premium is honestly too expensive for me to justify with the additional features I don’t need or want, but what about combining the tumblr supporter badge with ad-free? That’s about $36 USD annually, which seems reasonable (again, not sure about the ad revenue y’all generate outside of premium though)

Also, what about something similar to Reddit’s platform where users can award badges to certain posts or comments, like ones that are especially helpful or funny? This would mean making new badges though.

There’s also an option to gift Reddit Gold to another user, who then has those benefits for a month. What about something similar for Tumblr premium? Adds another feature with the current price and may drive more premium purchases

Answer: Hey, @anew-flame!

Thank you for your feedback. Let us address each point one by one:

Premium has actually been something of a success so far, so it’s pretty unlikely we’re going to bring back Ad-Free as its own tier anytime soon. We do hear you, though—never say never!

We would also add that The Supporter Badge is a nice option for anyone who wants to support Tumblr but can’t afford Premium. In doing so, you help to keep Tumblr and thus your blog alive, which is a pretty good deal! You also get a nifty badge.

what about combining the tumblr supporter badge with ad-free?

This was actually something we did a fair amount of research into and surveyed people on Tumblr. However, for the most part, people did not want these two things tied together, so we’ve left them separate.

Also, what about something similar to Reddit’s platform where users can award badges to certain posts or comments, like ones that are especially helpful or funny? This would mean making new badges though.

This is a cool idea! Very cool. And you can gift badges and Premium to others for this reason! It is already possible—to find out more, check out the “Gifting Premium” section in the Help Center article.

As for badges, we may add more badges next year, so watch this space.

Thanks for your questions, and have a good day. Keep ’em coming, folks.

fandomsareforlife asked:

With tumblr premium increasing the likes and posts limit, will that impact the limits for those who use the free version?

Answer: Hello, @fandomsareforlife!

As it happens, our own @cyle has answered just this question recently, which you can find here. We have also included it below.

Premium subscribers get double the normal limits. But there are otherwise no new limits. These current limits have been in place for over a decade, but the vast majority of people don’t know there are limits because they’re never in danger of hitting them. Some people hit them every day, and now they can get higher limits.

The limits are documented across various help docs, our API documentation, and we tell you when you hit them. XKit Rewritten has a nice little limit checker, too, if you fly close to them frequently.

Thanks for getting in touch, and we hope this helps. Keep the questions coming!

AH ANOTHER ONE, POST LIMITS!!!!!

I don't know why we're still only using 250 posts per day across all blogs. I hit this SO often and it's extremely frustrating. Are there plans to raise this???? Double it to 500?? Make it 250 PER BLOG at least???

Something that isn't just roughly ten posts an hour, which can go by extremely fast when you're trying to support artists and various crowdfunding efforts. There's not even a way to increase post limit with an ad free subscription, this seems like something that doesn't need to stay the way it is and i feel like we should talk about this and figure out a better number.

I get how limits help fight back against spam, but last week i kept hitting post limit early in the day because the counter resets at 9pm for me - so all of my late night posts + everything that piled up in the queue since i was blocked all day before 9pm gives me significantly less room to work with the next day. I am not spam, i am a human being, and doing regular organic activity is getting me driven off the site!!! the way this feels is like do you want us on here or not lol?? why are we being punished for finding it engaging, I do not think 250 is a reasonable limit.

250posts/24hrs is 10.4 posts an hour, and is all you have to work with regardless of how many other side blogs you maintain. There's not even a way to see how many posts you have left for the day, I think post limit needs addressing!!!! or at least some kind of acknowledgement to start!! 250 forever just does not make sense
