SCOTT H. HULL, OF OSKALOOSA', IOWA.
DESIGN FOR A LAWN-SPRINKLER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,073, datedfi'eptember 10, 1901.
Application filed August 1, 1901. Serial No. 70,560. Term of patent 3 years To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, SCOTT II. HULL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oskaloosa, in he county of Mahaska and State of Iowa, have 5 invented and produced a new and original Design for Lawn-Sprinklers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appero tains to make and use the same.
This invention has relation to a design of unique and novel outline for a lawn-sprinkler.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of my design. Fig. 2 is a top plan View, 5 and Fig. 3 is a central section, of the same.
The essential features of the design consist of a circular base provided on its inner diameter with a series of spiral ribs and depres sions of approximately V form in cross-sec- 5 tion. A ball is mounted on the base, and intermediate the base and ball is arranged a series of ornamental horizontal ridges, and the upper part of the ball is provided with a series of uniqu ely-arranged perforations or holes. The 5 base 1 has a series of vertically-inclined lines 2 around the outer edge, and a rounded portion 3 extends upwardly from said base, the
rounded portion 3 being of smaller diameter than the base 1. A reduced neck 4 merges from the portion 3, as at 5, and then gradually turns out, as at 6, from whence a flange 8 extends up and joins onto an outwardlyfiaring surface 9, and from this surface a ball 10 radiates, the ball being of larger diameter than the surface 9. The ball is made attractive at its upper end by a series of perforations 11, said perforations being disposed intermediate each other to give a pleasing effect. The inner diameter of the base 1 and the portion 3 has a series of spiral ribs and depressions 12 of substantially V form in cross-section, and at the upper end of the spirals is a horizontal flange 13.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is- The design for a lawn-sprinkler, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SCOTT H. HULL.
Witnesses:
