DESlGN FOR A COVER-DISH.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 23,149, dated March 27, 1894. Application filed March 1, 1894- Serial No. 501,999. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES EDWARD IlAVl- LAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Limoges, in the Republic of 5 France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cover-Dish and other Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part thereof,
and in which :0 ing drawings.
The sides of the body of the dish are composed of the scalloped sections A and are slightly concave along their upper portions, whence they extend downward and outward z to a. point or line at which they rather abruptly turn inward and downward to the base B, which forms ornamental feet C and bears the ornate scroll figures D. The sides of the body of the dish at the points of the depres- 3o sions between the scalloped sections A bear the ornamental scroll figures E in relief, and between the lower ends of said figures E and running along the line at which the lower part of the sides of the body turn inward toward the base 13 are the ornate scroll figures F, G, while between the scroll figures E and the end handles ll are the ornamental scrolls I. The handles ll at their edges have the form of ornate scrolls.
The cover, lettered J, has at its raised center the handle K, and at its outer portion the series of scalloped sections L corresponding with the sections A of the body of the dish, while the edge of the rim of the cover J is composed of theseries of small scallopsa having between them the raised tapering portions b. Upon the cover J at the points be tween the sections L thereof are the ornamental scroll figures M in relief, which, correspond with the scroll figures E on the sides of the body of the dish; and intermediate the inner ends of said figures M and the ends of the handle K are the ornamental scroll figures d, e, f as shown.
What I claim is- The design for a cover-dish and other articles, substantially as shown and described.
