SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,964, dated January 29, 189 5. Application filed December 20. 1894. Serial No. 532,502- Term of patent 7 years.
T 0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES EDWARD HAV- ILAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Limoges, in the Republic of France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Covered Dish and Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which Figure 1 is a top View of a covered dish bearing my design. Fig. :3 is aside elevation of same; and Fig. 3 is a detached sectional view through a portion of same on the dotted line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
The leading feature of my design consists in the new and original and ornamental form, shape and configuration of the covered dish,
substantially as shown in the drawings forming a part of this application.
In the drawings A designates the body of the dish, and B the cover therefor.
The sides of the body A are composed of scalloped sections 0 and incline outward and downward, as shown, to a line adjacent to the horizontal plane of the bottom of the dish, at which line there is an ornamental edging and from which said sides turn abruptly inward and downward to the base The 0pposite sides of the body A have suitable handles F, F.
The cover B has a raised center G bearing a handle II, and at its edges said cover has the scalloped sections I corresponding with the sections 0 of the body A and having, the ornamental edging J corresponding with the edging D on said body.
The general form and shape of the body A and cover 13 constitute a harmonious and attractive outline.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a covered dish or similar article, substantially as shown and described.
