Design No. 3,223, dated November 3, 1868.
DESIGN FOR A. COOK'S STOVE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom 'it 'may concern Be it known that we, CHARLES S. LORD and WIL- LIAM N. WALKER, of Otter River, in the county of Worcester, and State of Massachusetts, have originated a new Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, making part of this specification, which represents the ,stove in perspective.
On the sides A are the oven-doors B, one only being shown, which are provided on their edges with a moulding, a. r
At the -inner edge of the moulding, and extending entirely around the door, is a border, b, composed of ornamental points, united together at the base.
IVithin the border b is a raised panel, c, having a moulded edge, rl, inside of which is a border, e, similar to the border b.
In the centre ofthe panel c is an ornament, f, coinposed of an elliptical bulb, set in a diamond-shaped figure, of scroll-work.
The edges of the hearths O D, top, Il, and lower portion, G, are moulded, as seen in the photograph.
The door H, around the edge of which is a moulding, y, is provided with a border, h, similar to that, b, on the oven-door, and in the centre is an ornament, t'.
On the opposite side of the stove, instead of the door H, there is a panel of the same design.
On each side of the stove is a panel, I, with a moulding and border similar to that of the door H, but Without a centre ornament.
rlhe front doors, K L, and the doors M N, beneath the hearth (l, arc each provided with a moulding, border, and centre ornament, similar to those of the door H.
Above the doors K L is a plain panel, I.
Between the door H and the oven-door B is a narrow panel, k.
The feet O are ornamented, as seen at m n.
On the panel Q, over the doors B and H, is the name of the h'rm and their place of business, Lordt Walker, Otter River,l\Iassachusetts, and beneath the oven-door B is the name of the stove, Pearl What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
'Ihe design for cooking-stoves, as shown and described.
